drank Apricot Green by Adagio Teas

A nice hot cup for a cold crappy rainy day. The soothing earthy flavors of a green tea with the sweet perky pick me up of apricot :) Now I just wish I had some toast to go with this…

This tea has a lovely nose, full of gentle tartness from the lemon and spicey black pepper. On the palette even over-steeped it was never harsh, simply more potent. The flavors blend exceptionally well, a new favorite cuppa when my throat and sinuses are feeling sad.

This tea was EXACTLY what I was in the mood for. Something with a strong fruit overtone, but with the warmth and gentle spice of a ginger infusion. Unlike some other herbal blends I’ve sampled, even steeped for the full 5 minutes the ginger didn’t become overpowering. A perfect cup for those blustery fall and winter mornings, would be EXCELLENT with toast and jam :)

drank White Pear by Zhi Tea

Wasn’t sure the first time, this tea is very steep-time sensitive. Don’t oversteep it or you lose the crisp pear notes and are left with a bit of a heady White Peony. Once steeped to the proper time it’s a great refreshing cup.

An instant classic. As with many of Zen Tara’s blends, the nose has a prominant ‘candy’ note, which mellows in steeping. There is still definitely an overtone of cherry jolly rancher, but it is subdued and blends gently into the white tea. An office favorite here at MetaSpring!

In the second steeping I’m feeling more of the smokey-peppery ness of the Oolong coming through, along with some of the floral on the finish. The first steeping I feel had more of the citrus. Overall a very smooth and satisfying cup.
