drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA

I had this yesterday and this morning as an eggnog latte. Yummy with just a tiny shake of vanilla sugar. We are having an unusually mild winter so far (knock on wood), so it almost feels like it is still fall. And of course, this tea always makes me think of fall

drank Coconut green by Zen Tea

I really enjoy this coconut green tea. Thr coconut is sweet and creamy, and tastes natural. The green tea is not too vegetal. It was also very good when I put the remainder of my cup in the fridge to chill.
With little kids running around, it seems I only get to drink half a cup of hot tea these days. Unless I guzzle it, but that’s not fun.

And it never tastes good heated up!

tigress_al

I agree Alyssa, it never tastes the same if you microwave it

drank Blueberry Cream by Zen Tea

I cold brewed this and of course, the hibiscus took over a little bit, but it wasn’t too bad. The cream was mostly nonexistent though. I wonder if it would be creamier if I put a little bit of hot water in first and then add in the cold water for cold brewing.

drank Champagne cassis by Zen Tea

I cold brewed my leaves from my hot brew the other day. Cold, the fruity currant notes really stand out. I still don’t think I’m getting any champagne but maybe I didn’t shake the bag enough.

drank Strawberry Cream by Zen Tea
1184 tasting notes

I am happy to have this back in my cupboard. I enjoy this black with a little creaminess and some sweet strawberry. I find that the strawberry tastes mostly natural.
If I remember correctly, this can get astringent fairly quickly so I like to keep the steeping time low. I guess I could also decrease the temp.

Preparation
2 min, 0 sec 1 tsp

drank Black Beauty by Mandala Tea
1184 tasting notes

The dry leaves are twisty and beautiful, smelling like burnt sugar and dark chocolate.
The preparation instructions state to brew at 208degrees, so I boiled the water and let it sit for about a minute and a half (I couldn’t wait any longer than that).
When brewed, the dark Amber colour of the brew is tempting me to take a sip and burn my tongue but I hold out and wait until it cools a bit.
The taste is roasty, smooth caramel and burnt sugar. Chocolate notes are there in every sip. In the background, there is slightly spicy and fruity notes. I really enjoy the complexity of this tea and that there is no astringency.

I am so glad that I finally put in a Mandala Tea order. What was I waiting for??

I resteeped for 4 minutes, but next time I think I would try 5 minutes.

I didn’t quite finish my last cup, so I put it in a water bottle in the fridge. It is also delicious cold!

Flavors: Caramel, Cocoa, Roasted

Preparation
3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp

One of my favorites!

TeaTiff

Love this one! I debated picking up some during the sale, but will have to wait for a bit.

I can see this one becoming a favourite!
Good will power TeaTiff on passing up a Black Friday sale!

drank Rooibos Chai by Zen Tea
1184 tasting notes

I bought this specifically to have with eggnog as dessert in the evenings during the holiday season. This is a fairly standard chai rooibos. It is a little spicy, sweet, and woodsy. I will likely not be trying this bare because I am not a fan of just straight chai. With eggnog, it makes a nice dessert!

drank Toffee Dream by Zen Tea

I still really enjoy this sweet toffee cuppa. White tea is one of my favourites for sure. There are slight nutty notes as well hiding in the background. The white base is light and adds hints of hay notes.

drank Earl Grey Cream by Zen Tea

This is such a lovely earl with soft hints of cream and vanilla to round out the sharp bergamot. This tea seems to have just the tiniest hint of some pepper to it this time. Interesting. It is just as delicious as I remember.

Bio

Hello,
I am a nurse. I have numerous hobbies: reading, crocheting, crafting, card making, scrapbooking, photography, shopping, and of course drinking TEA!

I started drinking loose leaf tea in Dec. 2010 when I went into a DavidsTea for the first time and have been hooked ever since! My favourite is probably white tea, but I also love black and oolong. I also like a nice relaxing rooibos or herbal in the evening. On Sundays, I like to treat myself and make a tea latte.

My favourite flavours are nutty, vanilla, chocolate, jasmine, tropical, fruity, earl grey.
My dislikes are lavender, rose, hibiscus, banana, and straight green or overly vegetal teas.

I am admittedly fairly generous in my rating scale. Most of my teas I rate at 90 and above, and would re-stock these teas.
Anything under 90 I probably wouldn’t re-stock unless I found a great price.
