From Zen Tea

Thanks to the hot and spicy ingredients, our Rooibos base receives a completely new exotic taste. The traditional chai ingredients such as aniseed, ginger and cinnamon form an interesting new Rooibos variety. The mellow taste of Rooibos is an ideal basis for the hot and spicy Chai ingredients. Very suitable for those who do not like caffeine.

My order of many Zentealife.com samples came in today! Nice. I could probably try all of their teas, which would be bad, because I would love all of them and want to stock up on all of them. I started with this one, since it’s nice to have a rooibos chai around when you want something to drink at night without caffeine but still has that spicy attitude. This one is amazing. I love it. Very spicy and it also has oranges in it though they were not in the ingredients list. The oranges add a lovely sweetness to the blend. I like the nice variety of spice ingredients. There isn’t as much of a rooibos flavor, but that may be because when I poured into the infuser, more spicy goodies fell out than rooibos. This one is very flavorful and comforting!

Many thanks to Zen Tea for this sample!!
I really wanted to try this; chai is such a comforting beverage that I always crave it at bedtime, but never have it because of the caffeine. Perfect solution!
Well, almost. I think I’ve decided that rooibus isn’t my favorite, but this will do in a pinch, especially when paired with milk and honey. Then I don’t taste the rooibus as much and I can still have the rich spiciness that I find so cozy.
I think rooibus enthusiasts will like this one! For people that want chai at bedtime, it’ll do. :)

All my ZenTea samples came in today! I made 7 pots of tea this afternoon…it was a bit ridiculous. This was on top of the 8 cups from this morning. I’m going to sipdown all these little samples lying around if it kills me! Now I have 2 herbals and 10 teas from ZenTea on top of that. What am I doing to myself?

The rooibos base is nice. I like the spicy ginger and cardamom. In fact, the whole spice blend is lovely. This is a pretty solid chai blend.

I bought this specifically to have with eggnog as dessert in the evenings during the holiday season. This is a fairly standard chai rooibos. It is a little spicy, sweet, and woodsy. I will likely not be trying this bare because I am not a fan of just straight chai. With eggnog, it makes a nice dessert!
