From Yunomi

Imari-cha grown in the heart of mountains in Imari, Saga Prefecture in Kyushu.

Imperial Imari Sencha – Kiwami is a type of kabusecha in which the new buds are shaded with double shades, cutting the sunlight to retain L-theanine and reduce catechins. As a result, the tea becomes rich in umami with natural sweetness in taste.

Current product is 2014 Shincha (spring harvest). Enjoy the high quality, refreshing Imari shincha packed in beautiful imariyaki design package (100-gram bag is the original packaging. 10-gram & 50-gram bags do not come in the imariyaki designed package).

Dark green, needle shaped tea leaves which turn into mushy small leaves after steeping. The Fragrance was sweetish vegetal.
The liquor was light cloudy with a vibrant yellowish green. Very rich in umami and amami and smooth like a good Gyokuro. It would be a waste not to enjoy it like a Gyokuro.  So my steeping instructions were: 5g per 80ml water, at 60-75°C for 10sec-2min, 4 Infusions were possible
