This is an excellent and tasty ripe puerh. It has a moderate amount of fermentation flavor left. It is not overly earthy. It has a very nice sweetness. It is hard for me to discern the exact notes of flavor because I seem to be coming down with something and while my taste bud seem unaffected, I am having trouble concentrating on the flavors I find. Suffice to say it is nice and sweet. I added sugar which has made the tea even sweeter.
I would also say that the leaves look and smell very tasty too.
I brewed this twice in an 18oz teapot with 6.1gt leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 30 sec and 30 sec. The second steeping I put in a thermos to bring to work with me.
Flavors: Sweet
Hope you feel better. I strongly recommend fresh ginger thinly sliced w/honey. Works wonders
How do you prepare the ginger? Do you eat the ginger whole or just heat it in the honey? We sell fresh ginger where I work.
Feel better.
I think you’re supposed to simmer it: http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipe/ginger-tea/
I have some dried ginger root, that works well too if you make a tea out of it.
Hope you feel better brother.
Allan – simmer the raw ginger in some water – I like it really strong, then strain it out and add some honey and some lemon if you want.
You might also want to try some lemon juice mixed with maple syrup or honey and add some cayenne to it – add some water and heat up for tea.
I don’t simmer. I peel it, thinly slice and some honey on top. And chew;). I read somewhere boil water “kills” good stuff in honey, or ginger, or lemon. Honey should not be heated. My kids just chew it and like it. Probably honey the most but they don’t complain
I tried making ginger tea. We will see if it helps. I don’t feel as bad as I did this morning.
