From Yunnan Sourcing

Ma Zui Shi is a small village in the mountains north of Jinggu county that sits at an altitude of almost 1800 meters. The tea was harvested in April 2022 from a small grove of trees growing wild. In total only 19 kilograms of this tea was harvested from the spring pluck.

This is wild tea with a full, complex taste. It’s not harsh or in desperate need of aging to make it palatable; it’s just great tea with very pleasant qi!

Region: Ma Zui Shi village, Jinggu County, Simao (Pu’er) Prefecture

Harvest time: April 2022

A decent buttery tea that’s on the savoury side with very little bitterness and astringency.

Dry leaves smell of sawdust and earth, wet ones more like popcorn, fern fiddleheads and milk. Early steeps are a bit sweet and fruity, later ones become a bit more savoury. There are notes of popcorn, green pepper, butter, and banana to be found.
