From Yogi Tea

WARNING: Read the label before drinking this tea!

When stress has a hold on you, take a break and brew a cup of Kava Stress Relief®. Native to Oceania and the South Pacific Islands, kava has traditionally been cultivated for its power to calm the body and mind and encourage a good night’s sleep. Kava is also recognized for its ability to promote a state of relaxed awareness without compromising mental functions. Yogi’s Kava Stress Relief tea combines this relaxing herb with cinnamon and sarsaparilla to add warmth and spice, and carob pod for rich flavor. Relax and find tranquility with a warm soothing cup of Kava Stress Relief.*

To get the most out of every cup, bring water to boiling and steep 5 to 10 minutes. For a stronger tea, use 2 tea bags. Enjoy 2 to 3 cups a day.

Pretty good, nothing too spectacular taste-wise but relaxing and nice when you need to calm down after a busy work day

Not disappointed. I was introduced to kava root through a kava bar where I live, where it is served as a very strong, semi-thick drink. In this pure concentrated form, kava does not taste very good, but it pleasantly anesthetizes your face and mouth, gives you a slight high, and is very relaxing. This tea definitely retains that kava flavor, but the added spices make it considerably less bitter and actually pretty tasty. It made me sleepy, as I wanted it to, and gave me just a very slight tingle in my mouth.

Surprisingly good tasting tea that really does relieve tension. It tastes most like Indian Sarsaparilla Root and Cinnamon. Stevia Leaf adds sweetness.

This is actually pretty good. It has stevia in it, which I usually loathe, but it is barely there. The flavor is spicy, I can really taste the cinnamon, and not unpleasant. I bought it for the relaxation claims than the taste, to be honest, but the taste isn’t too bad. I wouldn’t repurchase for taste, but I did like how effective the relaxing effect was. With all the warnings about kava, I don’t intend on consuming this more than a couple times a week, but I am glad to know it works.

Decided to try this one again. I think as long as I only drink it once in a great while, it’s no worse than having a few beers. (Which again, I only do once in a great while.)

I really love the flavor. The hazelnut and carob are wonderful together. I adore hazelnut coffee, so it makes perfect sense that I enjoy this one. It’s like having dessert, without the calories and sugar.

Except that this drink does exactly the opposite of what hazelnut coffee does! I definitely feel drowsy, and my tongue tingled a little while I was drinking it, although I’ve been assured that that is normal while drinking kava. I’m definitely only going to drink this one before bed or when I know I don’t need to drive or be anywhere after.

This is easily the best-tasting tea from Yogi that I’ve ever tried. I’m glad I decided to give it another chance.

First time in forever spending the night with my cousins on a weekday, only becausE WE’RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND TOMORROW.

I didn’t bother bringing any teas with me to their house tonight or to last me during Disney all day tomorrow, so I’m left with my aunt’s very limited tea selection.

I am so out of practice with teabags okay. I remember the last time I had a teabag, I had no idea what to do. 5 minutes in boiling water seemed like a lot! Same with this tea. There’s a fairly strong aroma that comes out when I ripped the package open and I’m thinking a two second infusion would be sufficient. I’VE ONLY HAD LIKE 4 TEABAGS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE OKAY.

Umm this tea is okay? I’ve never had a full-leaf tea that tastes quite like this though. A good tea to drink if I have no other choice ahaha

(I’m sorry. I just really don’t like teabags okay. My roommates and close friends always make fun of me because I’m the sassiest tea drinker they know)

I have been using this tea for some time as a relaxant in the evenings while reading. I generally steep it for 15 minutes, but last night it steeped for about 25 minutes as a result of my being on the telephone with my dad! No harm, it wasn’t bitter and the spicier ingredients were stronger (which was good). I always add 1/4 to 1/2 organic lemon (small and sweeter than conventionally grown) which I think really brightens up the flavors. By itself, it’s a little bit dull but the cinnamon is pleasant.

Ingredients from teabag envelope: Carob Pod, Indian Sarsaparilla Root, Organic Cinnamon Bark, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Barley Malt, Kava Root Extract, Cardamom Seed, Natural Hazlenut Flavor, Stevia Leaf, Natural Licorice Flavor, Natural Cinnamon Bark Oil.

I really appreciate the fact that Yogi Tea uses organic ingredients.

from a taste standpoint, sure, its an okay tea. i like licorice and this mug emits a rather masculine, rooty, spicy aroma that i don’t find unpleasant. but truth be told, i was drinking this because i wanted to feel the effect of the magical kava kava root. alas, there is so little of it in here compared to a concentrated tincture… i didn’t feel anything at all after drinking this. it’s not good enough to drink it purely for the taste, i need a little buzz if i’m going to make this one a regular in my tea cupboard. maybe i’ll try a big mug with 3 or 4 tea bags in it next time? but then it’s just getting too expensive… idk. there you go.
