From white2tea

Anhua heicha, also known as dark tea, a post fermented tea from Hunan province in China.

Tianjian is a high grade production of Anhua heicha that contains younger leaves and buds. These baskets were stored in the mountains in Anhua for six years prior to moving to our Guangzhou storage. Their mountains storage is on the humid side, but will return to a more dry state with time.

The age on this tea has smoothed out of the corners of youth and it is well on its way to being a smooth, aged heicha. Spicy aroma with hints of age creeping into a smooth and sweet soup. Excellent daily tea for tianjian lovers.

Baskets contain ~1000g of loosely pressed tea.

Gongfu!

Steeped a bunch of stacked infusions this afternoon! This heicha has such an interesting balance of flavours. On one hand it’s quite brothy and smoky with a really savory unctuous quality to it, though on the other hand there’s maybe just a bit of sharper edge that reminds me of dandelion greens. Though I definitely prefer the more dark and umami elements, I appreciate how dynamic this tastes even with three or four steeps stacked on each other at a time!
