From white2tea

Old arbor large leaf varietal tea that is usually destined to be made in raw Puer, picked and processed in shaihong style tea with sun drying. We also have a white tea version of the same material.
Arbor red is has an herbaceous fragrance and flavors that often border on medicinal. Sweetness underlies the complex flavors and heavy body of this tea. This is an enduring and heavy black tea best suited for a longer, gongfu style tea session.

Gongfu!

Broke out this sample for an early afternoon black tea session!! Such a rich, syrupy liquor with a stunning deep red colour to it. The taste is exceptional too. Sweet upfront with layers of different brandied fruit notes; cherry, plums, red currant, and muscatel grapes. This is grounded by dense and umami flavours like exotic woods, medicinal herbs, malt, and just a bit of molasses. Compared to the original 2018 pressing of this tea, which I’ve drank more regularly since I have it in cake form (this was just a sample), I find the 2019 pressing more overt in its fruitiness and slightly less medicinal and bitter – but both come packed with body and flavour. It’s a treat to the palate!
