One of a bunch of Yiwu samples I picked up from W2T because I wanted to further explore their Yiwu sheng offerings; gave it a first taste in my yixing pot over the week as a bit of a late night (but not too late) session! It was nice, but I didn’t take notes either on my laptop, instagram, or the pad of paper I usually keep on my desk so I’m blanking on some of the nuances of the session – but suffice to say that the tea was soft and sweetly fruit, and very, very smooth.

Had a sample of this one that I only recently got to. It was a pleasant tea, with typical soft Yiwu flavors for the most part. Body was good, as I’d come to expect from all w2t sheng. While I enjoyed each session with the sample, it wasn’t anything that I’m likely to buy – didn’t really stand out for me, especially for the price.

Manichee is a 2017 tea by White2Tea that first came off with a strong Yiwu character, but later, gave off suggestive hints of having some Jingmai origins. The fruitiness was an instant standout in this sheng, and gave it more of an edge as far as sweetness goes. One thing I liked about this tea is that its fruitiness mixed beautifully with the medicinal body, and blended harmoniously to give it a balanced blend. Manichee’s sweetness wasn’t too sweet, which is a plus in my book.
