2016 Autumn Laoshan Bilochun

Guess who went from having a permanent part time to a permanent full time job within like 3 weeks? This lady right here!!! I start on Jan 3- what a great Christmas Present :)

Anywho, this tea is quite tasty- buttery and vegetal- just like the 2015 variety. Uping my rating a bit- I thought the tea had a tendancy to bitterness but it largely depends if I use a bit too much leaf of not. Lovely tea.

Flavors: Butter, Vegetal

Congratulations! Permanent full time—wooohooo! Delighted for you. I just hope you’ll continue to have time for tea. :)

I will always have time for tea :) I always have bags of herbal teas in my backpack for work (I usually drink 1 cup of green tea in the morning before heading out the door + 1 in my travel mug and that’s all my caffeine for one day).

Woot!! Congrats on the job :)

Thanks!!

tried to compare this to the regular harvest bilochun but i’m getting pulled in to a lot of work things today. this one seemed more sharp in taste than the regular one. This one had a stronger, deeper, “green” taste to it. Will try again next time to compare more effectively.

So I’m going to go with…. nobody else has reviewed Verdant’s September tea box yet?? Or at least not this tea? I couldn’t find a listing for it so I made one…

Anyhow, this was one of the 5 teas in September’s box. I’m not the hugest fan of greens BUT I do like those from Verdant! And have a ton I really need to drink up, and feel guilty about…

So I’m going to try and drink these five as soon as I can (though one’s a roasted oolong, so should have a little more longevity?)

I started with this tea and the Laoshan Pine Needle Green, because they sounded the most interesting. A Reserve tea and a new tea! Both smell incredibly delicious – sweet, fragrant, chewy green beans… so delicious. Brewed up (I accidentally left the infusers in for 4 minutes instead of my intended 2 – but the teas were ok!) this particular tea was more caramelly/brown sugary sweet than the Pine Needle Green, which was… sharper, though with a similar flavour profile. Both were very, very delicious though, and reminded me why I bought green teas from Verdant. WIll have to bring out the stash and get some green tea drinking done!

I really need to try Verdant’s green teas sometime! Need to use up a lot more of my higher quality greens before that though…
