Fruity Sangria
September 17, 2011 | Author UTOPIATEA
Description

Inspired by the traditional red-wine Sangria, our Fruity Sangria consists of elderberries, citrus, and lemongrass creating a flavorful cup. Fruity Sangria has large amounts of antioxidants and prevents cell damage. This beverage is great to drink anytime of the day and is wonderful over ice!
Tea Weight

Fruity Sangria comes in a 4oz pouch only.
Brewing Instructions

Water quality is essential when preparing the perfect cup of tea. Use bottled or filtered water for best results. Pour hot/boiled water (205 F) in your teacup or teapot and let it sit for 2 minutes then pour it out. The warming of the teacup or teapot will maintain the temperature creating the best tasting tea. Use two (2) tablespoons of loose tea per cup of water or per 12 ounces. Pour boiled water over tea leaves and keep your teapot covered to maintain the heat. Infuse for 5-7 minutes. Over infusing will create a strong bitter taste. Add sugar according to taste. Enjoy your tea one sip at a time!

Iced Tea Instructions
Single Serving

A stronger brew of iced tea is required due to the melting of the ice, therefore we suggest you double the amount of loose tea that you would typically use for hot tea, per cup. (i.e. if you use two tablespoons of loose tea for hot tea, use four tablespoons of loose tea for iced tea) Brew tea as directed. If you would prefer your iced tea to be sweetened, add rock sugar (for best results) while the tea is steeping, opposed to adding it at the end. This will enhance the taste of the iced tea and the sugar will easily dissolve in the hot water. After the hot tea is brewed, immediately pour it into a glass or cup filled completely with ice. The instant cooling will keep the scent and flavor of the tea intact. Add lemon or mint as desired. Enjoy!

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me a bit of this tea.

Yikes! Hibiscus!

Actually, the hibiscus is not too terrible in this. It does look VERY hibiscus-y once it’s brewed, but after six minutes of steeping, it doesn’t come off as too syrupy. It is a wee bit tart, but, it’s not too tart for me.

This has a tasty citrus taste, with notes of berry. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing I’m going to get terribly excited over either. Just OK.

malomorgen

I like it when other people also dislike hibiscus, idk why :)

KeenTeaThyme

I agree – I cheer inside. I’m not alone in my dislike! :)

Daisy Chubb

I wonder if it would be good mixed with a bit of wine… why have I not mixed wine and tisanes before? Oh wait – I did with a white wine once! It was good. rambling!

LiberTEAS

I don’t know about mixing it with wine, I think it would be good if it were mixed with a little bit of bubbly soda like sprite or something.

It does smell like Sangria!

It’s a mellower fruity taste…which I do appreciate! The lemon and berry/fruit flavors are mild and delightful! I can pick up on the apple, too! It’s soft and pleasant

Elderberries, tart hibiscus, citrus, lemongrass, apple, orange, rosehips, carrots, raspberries, natural flavors are the ingredients and this is another fruity tisane that Utopia did that seems to work really well with the hibiscus! Again!!!! Other companies should take note! These guys don’t overdo it with the tarty-Hibiscus and it makes the whole cuppa quite enjoyable! I had half a cup hot and the other half cold. Both are soothing and tasty but I do like the cold version a bit more! Thumbs up!
