A perfect fall tea- warm, spicy, with a hint of citrus. Upton’s description speaks of drinking in front of a fire, and I can’t imagine any better way to enjoy this tea.

The fragrance is marvelous, like mulled wine. However, the tea itself is somewhat weak with more tannin than I like. I probably won’t be getting more of this one.

Great smelling tea that fails to deliver on flavor is becoming an experience that I really don’t enjoy with tea. If I wanted to collect potpourri I’d be doing that, you know? Or candles…oooh, candles. I do like candles.

So with all the snow we’re getting here in NY, I felt today was a spiced tea sort of day. Since I have a sample on-hand, I figured this tea fit the bill.

It tastes and smells mainly of cinnamon and apples. There was a nice big piece of apple in the scoop, so that probably helped. I guess the vanilla’s what’s giving it that little bit of creaminess. No bitterness at all. If you add sugar though, I’d advise moderation. This gets VERY sweet if you add too much.

I admit, this is not a great tea, but it is a pleasant blend of black China tea with spices that remind me of the coming winter. The aroma is worth buying the tea.

Very pleasant and soothing blend, and made a good afternoon tea. I still can’t seem to find an apple-flavored tea where I can really taste the apple, but it was little more present here than in others I’ve tried. The spices seem like they are in fact limited to cinnamon (which I appreciate) and an almost a candy-sweet cinnamon at that, just barely on the right side of the sweet/cloying line.

Pleasantly surprised by this one! I’ve sampled a lot of apple-flavored teas (apple is one of my favorite flavors), so I’m pretty picky about them. In the bag, this one smelled a lot like potpourri—lots of strong, sharp cinnamon, with a hint of almond. Based on the scent of the dry leaf, I was worried the spices would be way too overpowering. But it steeped into a nicely spiced tea, with a solid apple note to round out the cinnamon. I also appreciate that the black tea base was lighter and smoother than I expected. I think I might prefer this one to Adagio’s Spiced Apple Chai, which is a pretty similar tea (but more aggressive with the spices and has a stronger tea for the base). It’s not my favorite tea with apple that I’ve tried so far, but it’s still a good blend for this time of year.

Another one from MissB! Thanks yet again! I was craving a wintery tea since you know… it was snowing today. Gah, almost April. It ended up being a perfect choice, even though at the first scent of the dry leaves it tasted a little like potpourri. The taste is much better. I really like the ingredients in this one: apple, cinnamon, vanilla and almond. Sounds delicious! I didn’t really see many apple pieces, and it may just be flavoring mostly. But the cinnamon was both spicy and sweet (I think the cinnamon was making it smell like potpourri.) The black tea wasn’t super strong… which is fine since I’d rather enjoy the ingredients in this. I liked the hints of vanilla and almond. The apple would just be in wispy sips halfway down the mug for some reason. This blend just screams autumn and winter and apple desserts. I will savor the last couple of teaspoons!
