From Twinings

English Breakfast is our most popular tea. To create this well-balanced blend, we carefully select the finest teas from five different regions, each with its own unique characteristics. Tea from Kenya and Malawi provides the briskness and coppery-red colour while Assam gives full-body and flavour. The robustness from these regions is complemented by the softer and more subtle teas from China and Indonesia. The combination of these varieties yields a complex, full-bodied, lively cup of tea that is perfect any time of day.

Water: 8oz

Leaves: tea bag

Measuring Spoon: no

Steep: 4m

Aroma: typical black tea, maybe fruity?

Color: Coppery, Reddish

Clarity: Great

Taste: I’ve had this tea before in the past & enjoyed it. This time it was a surprise from my mother when she went grocery shopping. I steeped it according to the package instructions. When finish the aroma was difficult to pinpoint exactly. The clarity of this was perfect although its a deep rich coppery red color I could easily see the bottom of my cup. Taking a sip I noticed that this is a very smooth with no dry mouth feel. There is quite a bit of bitterness that lingers on the tongue in between sips. Overall I found this to be an okay cup. I really want to try it with milk/cream + sugar to see how it is then b/c it’s something I don’t do.

I’m almost done with my box of this, and I feel at this point it’s appropriate to give this tea a nod. After all, it’s been my constant companion for the last 18-ish months.

As bagged blacks go, this is one of the better ones.

My go to breakfast tea. Pair well with milk and pastries.

It’s kind of strange that there aren’t more reviews of this tea. It is everywhere in Canada, and Britain.

As long as I can remember Twinnings was a quality brand here. They were above the usual supermarket brands.

This English Breakfast is a nice dark colour. You can drink it with or without milk and it is fine. In other words the tea isn’t too heavy on tanin like cheaper brands.

All of the tea bags are individually wrapped. I have a box here that has been around for 2 years, and it still tastes good.

I totally agree with you. Twinings English Breakfast Tea is a solid, dependable, good quality tea. It is a permanent fixture in my tea pantry.

Two weeks ago, I gave up coffee. The jitters had gotten too much for me. I went looking for tea that I had stashed in my cupboard, and found a large box of English Breakfast, purchased a while ago, but the date on the box still said it was fine. So, I’ve been drinking it for the past little while, trying to use it up. It’s done the trick, but hasn’t been amazing. Now, I’m curious about tea, and realizing there’s a whole big world out there to be tasting and enjoying… As soon as this is gone, here comes other teas!
