From Twinings

It all began in 1933 when we first introduced English Breakfast to the British breakfast table. Since then, very little has changed because we take great care to ensure that the blend you drink today tastes as wonderful as the one created over 80 years ago. Today, English Breakfast is one of our most popular teas.

But, sometimes, a little change can be good. That’s why we are excited to bring you Extra Bold English Breakfast – a modern twist to a classic tea. Thick and malty, this well-balanced tea is smooth, rich and full-bodied in flavour. A genuine favourite of our Master Blenders.

My morning cup thanks to Devon and her Advent calendar.
Finally, another tea but green — and extra bold sound great on Monday morning!

I have prepared it as inteded, so boiling water, and 4 minutes steep. That was a bit a warning sign for me, as it is “only” tea bag, 4 minutes is long steeping time and boiling water releases absolutely all caffeine from this dust.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it is not bitter. However it was one-dimensional flat tannic drink. Somehow similar to Yellow Label. Maybe a bit sweet and maltier. That said, it is only malty and tannic.

But great caffeine boost, indeed!
