From The Tea Girl

Organically grown Ti Kwan Yin sweetly flavoured with vanilla bean. The tea is naturally sweet and creamy and paired with the light floral toasty notes of the oolong tastes similar to a vanilla cupcake.

Ingredients: organic oolong tea, cornflowers, flavour.

Blenders Notes: I was asked recently if I had a vanilla oolong as the customer was trying to replace their corporate teas with local supplies, and I knew I could rise to the challenge! The other vanilla teas in the tea girl collection are fabulous and popular so I was surprised it had taken so long to produce this blend. The result is a simple, yet elegant tea with just enough complexity for multiple steepings. Lovely as a heart warming cup.

V is for…Vanilla Orchid Oolong

Another from Sil. Thank you!!

This is so similar to the DAVIDsTEA tea of the same name. Are they the same tea? They are super similar which means this is awesome vanilla pudding deliciousness. So if the DAVIDsTEA one is unavailable, this is great alternative.

Not a tea i’d have picked for myself but one of the surprise hits of my order so far. A few extra samples made their way in to the order for which i’m grateful for since they’re teas i wouldn’t have picked for myself but i’m open to trying. This had a particularly nice vanilla taste to it – one of the stronger vanilla flavours i’ve had in a bit. and, as a positive for ME, it wasn’t overly oolongy. Often that typical green oolong taste comes through and in this case it wasn’t really there. Other half of the sample is off to variaTEA!

2020 Advent Calendar from The Tea Girl – Day 9

So after my morning vanilla matcha, I was ecstatic to see that my afternoon brew was also going to be vanilla! I remember the DAVIDSTea vanilla orchid oolong…it was one of my favorites back in the day, so I was also excited for some nostalgia with this tea!

It smells sooo yummy! I love how delicate the cornflowers look with the tea!

Steeped at 195 degrees for 3 minutes. The leaves nicely unfurled, and the cup was lightly sweet, fresh and not too strong. A touch of astringency, but in a gentle way. I found this like a mellow cupcake, with a hint of dryness. Pretty enjoyable! I am sad I did not get a chance to do a second steeping, but my caffeine quota was definitely met for the day between this one and the matcha. Very yum, may have to order more of this to play around with it! Excited for my next steeping!
