From The Silk Tea Co.

Jewels, but make it tea

Inhale the eternal breath of a splendid summer day with this exquisite green tea. The fragrance alone is enough to transport you to le jardin secret. Sip to escape to the lush secret garden we’ve tucked away just for you in this sophisticated and relaxing blend, inspired by one of the lovely jeweled gardens of Marrakech.

Or if you fancy, you can think of the 1911 novel with the same name. Infused with sweet strawberries, luscious honeydew fruit, and a kiss of vanilla, this antioxidant-rich tea is perfectly suited to be served hot or over ice. Go on and keep this pleasure a secret. We won’t tell.

Ingredients
Secret Garden features Sencha green tea, strawberry, honeydew melon, stinging nettles, peppermint, orange peels, rose hips, rose petals, and flavors. Exclusively blended in Europe with premium ingredients from around the world. Founded and packed in the USA.

This has been in my ‘to try’ pile for awhile, and I just haven’t been in the mood to try it. I’m rarely in the mood for green teas anymore, and on the rare occasion that I am, I usually go for a straight green tea rather than something flavored or a blend.

I really like the smell once brewed (the dry leaf smells really mild and somewhat indistinct). The strawberry scent is quite candy like and sugary.

The strawberry flavor is much less pronounced than the scent. The main flavor I’m getting is a stale honeydew. Kind of like if you were to apply an old honeydew flavored chapstick and got some in your mouth. Not great.

This is going into my giveaway pile.

Hmm… not sure how I feel about this one. It sounds like something I would like – a strawberry and honeydew green tea.

But something is a bit off for me? Not sure if it’s the peppermint, the nettle, or just one of the flavorings not melding well. I definitely get the melon, and it seems sweet, creamy, and perfectly pleasant. Strawberry is definitely candylike though.

We’ll see if I warm up to it over the course of 25 grams!

There was a Cadbury’s in my basket yesterday; still is, but may not be by tonight!

Ooops. Responded to the wrong note. Omit Cadbury references above and apply to B&B Cream Egg. This is clearly not my day. At work, someone was sending info via email and asked me to stay on the line to confirm it came through, to which I responded, “OK. Sometimes it takes a little while for incoming emails to make it through our DRYWALL.”
