Been using this tea up gradually since it’s from last year. I pretty much hate peppermint tea, this is the only one I tolerate and enjoy. The Stevia adds some great sweetness, it’s not too heavy of a mint flavor, the smoothness and creaminess really balance it out well.

Thanks for this freebie, Ost! Always willing to try, especially a minty chocolate tea but WHOA this is the tea with the most splenda I’ve ever had. It’s almost unbearably too sweet with hints of mint and chocolate behind all of that splenda. It’s just too much. They should have just labeled this one splenda. :/

Already sweetened, but not too sweetly. The peppermint is great, and the chocolate adds a smoothness more so than “hey, I’m chocolate!” Tasty, but if you’re after a rather chocolatey tea, you’d have to look elsewhere. Still yummy! :)

This really does taste like peppermint bark. The aftertaste is amazing! I don’t mind the stevia! I just finished my first cup but can see this becoming a favorite.

I had a sample of this from the holidays so I gave it a try today. It seemed interesting, but had stevia leaf, so it’s not really my thing. Luckily, my 4 year old loved it (“Sorry, Mom, I’m going to want to drink the whole cup.”) so it will be consumed.

Soo I totally oversteeped this tea because I was really upset over an email my stupid Doctor sent me >> So I’m not gonna rate it yet. It was way too much peppermint for one cup of tea. xD I need to try this again and give it a proper review because I Am sure that this isn’t what it usually tastes like. Oy.
Don’t worry, I will give it a proper review soon, Rosehips!
Just was a bad moment to be steeping tea since I was really upset ><

That’s why I always send extras! You never know when oversteepage may occur. Best of luck for the next cup.

Ost

Haha, and I’m like a pro at over-steeping. xD So thanks for being thoughtful about it! XD

AllanK

I oversteep peppermint tea on purpose. Stronger tea makes a better medicine for certain gastrointestinal problems. A lot of health benefits to peppermint tea.

Ost

Huh…didn’t know that. But may come in handy later in life. xD Never know. That’s interesting.

I got this sample in my December RoT catalog and am finally getting around to trying it. I was excited to see that this was a green rooibos, since most of the other chocolate peppermint teas I’ve tried have been red rooibos and can tend to have a woody aftertaste. This one has a nice smooth peppermint flavor as I’m sipping it, but the strong stevia aftertaste completely ruins the experience for me. I wish companies wouldn’t pre-sweeten their teas!

Anlina

Why is stevia in tea even a thing?

LiberTEAS

@Anlina: I don’t know. I always get frustrated when I see it on the ingredient list of a tea blend. I like to decide whether or not I want it sweetened or not, I don’t like that decision made for me.

Inkling

Absolutely agreed! I almost always drink my tea unsweetened and it’s so frustrating to discover that I don’t even have that option with a particular tea.

The mint and cocoa in this tea definitely take the foreground along with the sweetness from the stevia leaf. The green rooibos seems to take a background note, but it is there. I would actually like to see this without stevia already added. I think it might take on a slightly darker, earthier tone which might be nice. Overall a great tea!

Cup of the evening. I really like this. Its creamy, rich, and just the right blend of vanilla and peppermint. Its really lovely, and I’m enjoying it on the cold nights.
Tonight is extra good, as I have a lovely dinner, a fire going, and a fun movie on the TV, with my significant other beside me. A good end of the weekend.
Now, alas, to start the week again.

This was my sample for the month, and since I’m reaching for rooibos this morning I decided to try it. Dry it smells exactly like peppermint bark, but brewed it mostly smells like mint. I didn’t realize it had stevia in it until I looked at this page, but it’s very obvious from the taste. It’s not bad, exactly, but the stevia taste is strong and overpowers the chocolate. The mint is still present, but I wish this one would have been left unsweetened.
