From The Republic of Tea

This smooth, delicate flavor reveals a hint of malt and a fresh herbal character. Nice with both savory and sweet foods. Low in tannins, it steeps a delightful cup – Hot or Iced.

Vegetarian Times 2011 Foodie Award BEST TEA winner.

This tea was formerly Organic Raw Green Rooibos Natural.

I don’t really care for red rooibos but I’ve seen some people mentioning they have a strong preference for either red or green so I thought I’d give this a try when I found a tin at the grocery store. I think it’s quite a bit tastier than red rooibos but I’m not in love with it. It’s just a big cup of meh. There are other caffeine-free options I enjoy a lot more. Maybe it would be better for me in a blend instead of straight rooibos? Or maybe I’m just not a rooibos person.

Wow. This is basically green tea without the risk of it getting bitter. I usually love the grassy profile of green tea but I too often than not end up having a bitter brew. This green rooibos tea basically guarantees that it’s not bitter, getting just the full grassy taste that I love from green tea. It’s also caffeine free so that’s always a plus for anyone.

I’d say that this is a good green tea alternative if you don’t like the bitterness or if you just don’t want the caffeine from green tea without having to get a decaf version.

Next time I have this I’ll make it stronger, since right now it’s very weak being only one bag in 12oz. of water.
