From The Republic of Tea

Luscious pineapple and delicately sweet lychee – a small, round, creamy white fruit native to China – both sing with the flavors of warm Asian islands. They harmonize beautifully with the natural flavor of Nigerian hibiscus.

Steeping Instructions
Steeping herbal tea is easy. Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour water over tea and steep for 5-7 minutes if using a tea bag or full-leaf. For iced tea, double the amount of tea used. Cool and serve over ice.

Ingredients: Hibiscus (flower), rosehips (fruit), apples (fruit), stevia (leaf) pineapple bits (fruit). Other Ingredients: Natural pineapple and lychee flavors

I like hibiscus enough to drink the tisane without sweetener. I’m interested in the antioxidant properties and the lack of caffeine for an evening tea. I enjoy additional flavors/ingredients added to round out the tartness but I hate to say it, I just pass this tea up in the cupboard all the time in favor of Dammann Freres Carcadet Samba. The aroma of the RofT is enticing once brewed. The color is not quite as deep as the DF. I’ve tried it iced. It just kind of sits in my fridge til I toss it. I do taste the pineapple and lychee, though. I can see how some people would really favor this blend. It reminds me of Hawaii.

The tea smelled very nice and sweet but I didn’t like the taste that much. The exact taste to me was an under ripe pineapple. It had a slight sour/tarteness to it with a subtle sweetness. Just like a pineapple that’s not ripe. You could taste a light pineapple aftertaste.

4 bags in a 6 cup teapot filled to 3/4….added ice after a 5 minute steep. And then put it into my pretty glass pitcher. Good for iced, but I am pretty sure I will not repurchase once this tin is gone.
