Xi Gui is a very elegant Pu-Erh tea cake with many fine tips and small leaves from big trees. It has a very flowery aroma and sweet taste. A very good tea for people who don’t like the earthy and smokey flavor of Pu-Erh. Leaves: Mainly tips and young leaves. Soup: Light green and yellow, highly concentrated taste. Bright colour with thick, rich, and oily feeling. Aroma: The aroma is very open, a unique orchid fragrance. Aroma lingers in the mouth and on the cup. Taste: It tastes delicate with good “Cha Qi” at the beginning, with very little bitterness even after long steeping. Soon after, the tea gives a sugar cane like sweet taste and a strong “Hui Gan”.
More information about Xi Gui Xi Gui grows in the Lincang region临沧, Banton villages, where it is surrounded by mountainous. The altitude ranges from 750 to 950 meters and the annual average temperature is around 21 ℃ with annual precipitation at approximately 1,200 mm. Xi Gui has many ancient tea plantations grown halfway up the mountain. There are many 100 to 200 year old tea trees. Since the local farmers harvest the leaves only in spring and autumn, the tea trees grow in an undisturbed and natural environment. In the year 2013, Xi Gui became renowned as a very popular Pu-Erh tea mountain, similar to Lao Ban Zhang .
