From Teavivre

Dragon Well green tea, or “Long Jing”, is commonly regarded as one of China’s top ten teas, and is often served to visiting heads of state. Apart from its delightfully sweet taste, with none of the bitterness that sometimes characterizes other green teas, Xihu Long Jing’s significant difference from other green teas is the smooth flat appearance of the tea leaves. TeaVivre have selected a great example of this premium Xihu Long Jing tea.

Whenever you feel upset or restless, Long Jing Tea is the perfect drink to relax and calm you.

The moment I took in the aroma, it reminded me of vegetable stock, if it were only made of cabbage, a subtle vegetable taste. After a few re-steepings, taste did improve, still full but the taste is now a pleasurable hint to be acquainted with.

aside from the matcha-genmaicha tea mix, this is the other green tea i enjoy. toasty, vegetal (non-spinach), and balanced.

I did not care for this Dragon Well. A friend gave me a sample and it did not taste like the Dragon Wells I’m familiar with. This Dragon Well seemed vegetal/floral. All the Dragon Wells I’ve had have had more of a vegetal/chestnut flavor which is what I look for in a good Dragon Well. Other than that, I feel like the look and quality of flavor was there, just not my type so I won’t rate this tea.

I have truly been enjoying these fresh spring green samples from TeaVivre Thanks so much again for the samples!

Fresh Dragon Well is a simple pleasure. So clean and crisp and sweet! Maybe not as complex as other teas but it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes all you need is a little green to brighten your life :)

This tea is just about perfect as far as I’m concerned! This is one of several Teavivre teas that I NEVER want to be without.

The dry leaves are beautiful. The liquor is deceptively pale for a beverage that packs so much flavor! It smells and tastes wonderful, and has a pleasingly buttery mouthfeel. Smooth and slightly sweet, with facets of chestnut and toasted cereal and a subtly grassy, vegetal side. It’s a friendly tea – comforting and uplifting – and holds up well to a second steep to boot.

Deliciously nutty and sweet. I couldn’t be happier with the teas I’ve ordered from Teavivre so far.

Steeped in glassware. Puring off half between steepings. Was disappointed with the quality. Could be much better. Pretty average long jing
