Sipdown no. 102 of the year 2014.

I bought the 2 oz size of most of my Teavana teas, so if I apply myself to drinking them they don’t last long.

This was a nice one. I’m bumping the rating some because the key to this is steeping very short and using low temp. At 175 for 1 minute this has a very delicate, pleasant lychee flavor that is kept from being cloying by what I am assuming is the effect of the goji berries (I haven’t had them outside of this tea so I’m not sure, but I’m thinking they must have some natural tartness to them?) and the white tea is taste-able without being planty.

It has been discontinued, however, so this is a definite goodbye. On to the next flavored white.

pyarkaaloo

from my experience, they do impart a tartness. off the top of my head, Goji Raspberry Green by Republic of Tea is pleasantly tart & the fruit mixes well with the green base.

Thanks, pyarkaaloo, that’s good to know!

Yum goji berries, probably the only tart thing I like in my teas. Shame it is discontinued though, I would have liked to give it a try.

This tea was a very flowery one that had spring all over it, it was a very flamboyantly rosy tea for the type of day it was today ( cloudy and so damn blehh outside) it smelled very strange both steeped and pre steeped! However once steeped it tasted pretty good, it had a blossom type of taste with the combo with the lychee and fruitiness. I mean all around the smell and all around ambiance around the tea wasn’t so exciting ( probably because it was a depressing day outside )

I too enjoyed this tea. :-)

I’ve been pondering trying this one for a little while now.

Mmmmmm! This is one of the closest teas to my beloved (and discontinued) Sweet Lily White from Teavana. One of the things I really dislike is having to use 1.5 times the amount of tea just to get a decent taste. It’s so worth it, though! From the first sip, this tea was heavenly. It’s very sweet, almost nectar like in taste. The lychees feature prominently and the tea somewhat takes a back seat in the first steep. (In subsequent steeps, it does come forth.) There is no bitterness or dreaded vegetal tastes to be had and I’m in love with it!

I got home late from work today and to make matters worse, I have a dentist appointment in the morning…. So, in order to wind down I decided to go trough my teas and organize them a bit (some of them had been sitting around for over 2 years!!!!!). As I went through my teas I came across Go Go Goji. The last time I shopped at Teavana (which was the last time I was in the US) I got 2 ounces of this tea free because it was being discontinued. Since it wasn’t something I was really looking forward to trying, it got lost in the back somewhere accompanying the 2 year old teas…

When I opened the bag, what got to me first was the fact that there were waaay too many lychee pieces in the tea. They were large and sticky and formed these weird looking balls of fluffy lychee, tea leaves, and what I assume are Goji Berries. I picked them apart enough to be able to scoop it out with a teaspoon (my fingers actually where sticky!). The smell was very floral with hints of lychee. I decided to use about 3 teaspoons instead of the recommended 1.5 teaspoons because I could’t imagine there being near to enough tea leaves in 1.5 teaspoons to even taste it at all….

I let it brew for the 5 recommended minutes. The liquor was a pleasant light yellow color. The smell of the brew was still very floral, but lychee was definitely a major player. I expected it to be overwhelmingly sweet (it seriously made my fingers sticky!) but it was only lightly sweet. Sweet was more of an aftertaste. The taste of this tea grew on me with each sip. I didn’t sweeten it and it did just fine.

Not one of my favorite teas, but still pretty good. Overall, it was an experience! Sadly it is discontinued, but I figured that someone might read over my adventure and identify! : )

It’s very very rosy. I like it, others really don’t. It smells strange when you steep it but I think if you blended it with another white tea it would be splendid. I’m still figuring this tea out.

This is the best Lychee tea I have ever had. There is definitely less emphasis on the Goji berries though, since the tea itself is mostly comprised of dried Lychee.

I really enjoyed this tea. A wonderful aroma before the steep and it remains constant after it has been steeped. It is very reminiscent of the flavors of India. I delicious blend. I do wish there was a little more rose. Other than that wonderfully flavorful and light. A must try.

I’m not a huge lychee fan….not a huge fan of this tea either :/ I wish there were more actual Goji berries instead of mostly lychees. It should be called Go Go Lychee :B

Oooo, if it tastes of lychee then I gotta try this one :D

I really like this tea. Sweet, fragrant, and fruity; very light without being watery and wishy-washy. Has way more lychee fruit and flavour than goji berry though, don’t go for it if you want a goji-berry hit or don’t like lychees. Suitable for multiple steeps, and the tea flavour comes through more in later batches.

Put off by it at first but I gave it another chance. I like this tea way better hot.
