From Tearunners

This black tea comes from the high-altitude tea farming region in Lincang. It is processed from the first flush of spring assamica tea leaves of 30-40 year old naturally grown tea plants.

Big Snow Mountain Black brews a deep red liquor with floral notes and a sweet thick mouthfeel.

Another morning dip into the Tea Runners cache. I’m hoping to hit a Lincang sheng later, so thought this could be a fun lead-in to the region.

Roast and sweet florals on the warming leaves, malt and light floral from the liquor. Some tannin. Flowers and bubblegum from the wet leaves. I enjoy this tea more as it cools — the flowers get a little stronger. This is no Lishan black — while omnipresent, the floral component is relatively understated.

This is good but middle of the road as far as black teas are concerned. I can take it or leave it. It’s malty. Some cocoa notes. A floral finish. Thank you for sharing Sil!

longer steep works better for this one. Still not my favourite, but at least there’s more flavour with a 4-5min steep
