This cake is made of tea leaves from teamaster Yang Ming own tea plantation in Yiwu. We are especially proud about this tea because it is already the second year we made this tea by ourselves.
Together with our friends, the tea masters Yang and Panda we went on the search for the ideal pu-erh tea leaves. However, far we did not need search as Yang’s tea platation offered this kind of tea leaves. And because Yang Ming doesn’t use pestizides nor artificial fertilizers are especially the bees very happy.
Certainly interesting to see is how this tea developed compared to Yiwu Lucky Bee of the previous year.

Taste: Honey sweet and a bit mineral.
Origin: Yiwu, Xishuangbanna, prefecture, Yunnan province, China.
Preparation: Appx. 3g per tea pot, temperatur 100°C. Rinse the tea leaves bevor infusing with boiling water.
Tip: This tea is ideal to mature a few years.

This sheng is purposedly processed to be drank young, so it’s slightly different to the average sheng. Really mild but with thick mouthfeel, notes of lavender and flowery honeyed aromas and a tad of green leafs.
Because of the virtual absence of bitterness and astringency I like to overleaf it quite a bit, this way it gains a lot of viscosity and some oolong-esque character. Slightly refreshing also.
Flavors: Green Melons, Honey, Lavender
Slightly mineral and floral with a subtle bitterness and sweet, vegetable note, surprisingly intense body and beautiful “stable character”. The first two infusions have a slightly unpleasant, hard to describe note (soapy-oolong-like?), but from the third infusion on, the actual character of the tea comes forth. In the 2016 version, however, this note is not (any more?) present, so maybe only a temporary phenomenon.

Hi Martin. This puerh in some ways has the profile of an oolong, it’s very flowery and smooth for a young sheng.
Mrmopar. I’ve only ordered from him once, and it’s been pretty good so far. Prices are also very reasonable for an european shop.
