From Tealyra

Japanese White teas are incredibly rare – Japanese Kiraka White Sencha is exclusive to Tealyra!

An exclusive and rare limited production of Organic Japanese White Tea from Shizuoka, Japan. It is made during 1st harvest in spring and exclusively made from handpicked tea leaves! The brew has a very soft, unusually sweet, refreshing taste, and lovely long lasting aftertaste. We import this rare gem directly from craft producers in Japan. This is the most sophisticated, gentle and delicious white tea you can drink.

In 2009 this tea received the highest award at green tea contest in Japan.

My Japanese friends said Japanese white tea doesn’t exist. I am so glad they were wrong!

I did three pour overs. The resulting liquid is incredibly smooth, delicate and elegant.

The flavor is sort of sencha-like, full, but really delicate. I love how pale the wet leaf gets after I poured.
