Nepal 2nd Flush – Golden Maloom (SFTGFOP1)
This Tea has the appearance of the best Sikkim tea with the exquisite taste and character of the finest Darjeeling tea.
SFTGFOP1 - Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe First Grade Leaves (9th of 9, 9 being the highest quality on black tea grading scale). Indicates that it contains many tips and are long and wiry in appearance. The liquors are lighter in color.
2nd Flush is harvested in June and produces an amber, full bodied, muscatel-flavored cup.
The tea gardens on the “roof of the world” in Nepal produce a small harvest of Darjeeling-like teas with a fine tangy flavour.
The Maloom Estate covers approximately 200 hectares and its slopes range from 3500 to 5500 feet above sea level. It produces outstanding teas but has a small total annual of around 40 tons. The first harvest begins from late February and continues to mid-April.
