From Tea Mountain

Traditionally processed oolong from a leaf from the once famous Dong Ding area, which was baked after processing by Mrs. Hua Chang Su, who is a master of traditional teas and classic baking typical of this area. During our regular visits Dong Dingu gives us a taste of three quality classes and this tea is one that they call “special”. Baking is typical of the Su family, which is the seventh generation of the Su family, who settled here and have been continuously growing and producing tea since then. Their style is much lighter than the current “competition” trend of heavily roasted Dong Ding oolongs. This style makes the character of the area and the tea itself more prominent and the tea from Mr. Su and his wife is always energetic, lively and juicy, aromatic, pleasant to drink, with a heavier body, more pronounced sweetness that is long lasting and can be further enhanced more or less strong baking, which emphasizes the fruity to spicy tones that we have not yet found in other teas in this area. For us, teas from the Su family are a kind of prototype of the true and authentic style of Dong Ding oolong from the original area.

Area: Gardens of Lords Ming Nen Sua (Yonglong Village) Qiu Zong Wena and Cai Yao Tang (both Zhang Ya Village, Dong Ding Mountain), Lugu, District Nantou
