ABOUT APRICOT AMARETTO

TEA TYPE : HERBAL TEA

Tea Forté Apricot Tea is a mellowing blend of Organic South African honeybush and Organic rooibos (ROY-boss), known as “red bush”. Both honeybush and rooibos are considered to be wonder herbs for their abundance of health promoting polyphenols and flavonoids which may help protect the body from free-radicals that weaken natural defenses. Enjoy our Apricot Tea with a sunny sweet taste and double delight of just picked apricots and juicy peach with the unique nuanced notes of organic marigold flowers and the enticing flavor of just toasted almond, artfully evoking Saronno, Italy the birthplace of amaretto.

Honeybush is rich in antioxidants that boost the body’s immune system and help slow the ageing process.
STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat water to 208˚F.
2. Place tea in cup and pour water over the leaves.

The dry leaves had a nice apricot scent which translated nicely into fruit flavor that lasted throughout the whole cup. The almond/amaretto was secondary, but detectable. That’s OK; I have terrible luck with almond stuff getting bitter, so less was more.

Good for a bedtime that I’m going to have to adjust to accommodate going back to work come Monday.

Now this is a fantastic rooibos. It’s one of those where you take a mouthful and go whoa. It’s not super almondy, but the bit that comes through really elevates the flavor as a whole. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to try this one. I would certainly buy some of this for myself.

Made a pot of this one while just lying back and watching Pride and Prejudice. I sure do love me some Mr. Darcy…

This was pretty good; I think that both the apricot and the amaretto are very clearly present in the cup and the two are a pretty solid pairing as well. The apricot presents at the top of the sip and is sweet, lively and juicy as well as just a little bit peachy. While it tastes somewhat natural, there is a bit of candy like sweetness to it as well. The amaretto isn’t nearly as strong as the apricot but that sweet, marzipan/almond like sweetness makes for a great nutty undertone and refreshing, sweet finish. This does use rooibos, and I did find I could taste it a little in the finish but I didn’t mind it that much either.

Two of my favourite drinks at the moment are Amaretto Sours and Apricot Sours so I bet that you could probably make a pretty good “mocktail” version of the two of those if you just brewed up and then chilled a concentrate of this and just mixed it with a little sweet and sour mix. It’d probably be really lovely.

Anywho, I’d say this is probably my favourite from the herbal sampler thus far!

I don’t taste the metallic taste that other drinkers have noticed. The one thing that I noticed is that I didn’t taste enough apricot for my liking in the tea. I was hoping for it to be a stronger flavour and was disappointed when it was not.

Not too bad. Not too great. Apricot and almond are the obvious tastes, and I really like those tastes. The artificiality is just as obvious. I felt like I was drinking an old fashioned hot soda, which is another reason why it did not necessarily offend me.

For me: pleasant. For a lot of other people, not so much. Not something I’d drink again, but something I’m glad I tried. Organic and au naturale are à la mode anyway.

another from omgsrsly. this one’s not bad but it’s not knock your socks off, which is i think where i landed the last time i tried a few of these tea forte things. It’s amaretto and there’s a slight apricot note in here which makes it more enjoyable for me, but not enough to want to have this around all the time. A nice tea to try and then move on:)

Part of a sample pack a friend gave me…

And I was actually pretty surprised! I liked it. Really fruity, with an amaretto flavour just like the liqueur. Om nom nom. I didn’t add anything to it last night, but I’m going to try it again with milk. I think it could be really tasty.

Out of my entire 24-flavor Tea Forte sample chest, only three flavors really stood out. White Cinnamon Sage was one of them, Chocolate Coconut Truffle was another. Apricot Amaretto was the last.

I adore the combo of apricot and almond anyway, so this seemed like a no-brainer for me. The apricot is juicy without being overly sweet, the floral almond flavor compliments the apricot taste so well. I might have to commit to a full tin of this one.

For Christmas, one of my not-tea people gave me a Tea Forte sampler box as a gift. I won’t say ‘no’ to tea and you can certainly do worse than Tea Forte. Three packages each of five individually wrapped servings. Really, I think this might have been two teaspoons in one “serving” but I used all of it anyway. This one is quite tasty. Plenty of apricot, something like marzipan flavor on a decent rooibos base. I expected worse!
