I have nearly reached the end of my supply of these rip-off single-serve loose leaf portions of Tea Forté Chamomile Citron, and I have to say that this blend has grown on me over several sessions.

Tonight I used a wider-gauge sieve, which made the particles of chamomile slip through, so maybe that’s why it seemed stronger than usual. Anyway, I would definitely consider buying this blend again, perhaps in the loose-leaf rather than in these individual packets. I don’t have a problem with teaspoons. No, not at all!

Thanks tea forte for another free sample. Backlogging. Dry this smells like chamomile, lemon, and abit of peppermint. I steep this up. Smell I can now smell the peppermint more. This taste like chamomile with some lemon and abit of peppermint. Now to me this is decent because the lemon is too strong to me and I prefer spearmint to peppermint, but I think this is a fairly good herbal.

I reviewed the Tea Forté Kati Cup and a few teas on my blog; here’s what I wrote about Chamomile Citron:

…The big surprise for me was how much I enjoyed the Chamomile Citron. I am usually not a fan of chamomile, but Tea Forté’s blend of Egyptian flowers mixed with hibiscus, rose hips, peppermint, lemongrass, lemon verbena and licorice root yielded a pretty pink liquor that was calming, delicious and addictive. I knew after my first sip of the aromatic infusion that I had to have more, and that it would become a staple in my tea chest. This sweet and tart brew was wonderful unadorned, but I added a bit of rock sugar and it was outstanding…

Dry leaf smell: Like marmalade, but with herbal notes. Rather odd but pleasant nonetheless.
Steeped leaf smell: A bit like a wet hamster.
Taste: I’m not a fan of chamomile, but I guess this wasn’t too bad. Kind of tastes like chrysanthemum tea. The aroma was off-putting though. There also seems to be this pineapple-like aftertaste. I can’t decide if it’s a good or bad thing. Oh but I like the mint in the tea!

I think this is the first tea out of the sampler that I’ve enjoyed. The chamomile is soothing with a warm citrus of the lemongrass and floral notes. I don’t sense the mint that other’s mention. This was a nice cup to have while relaxing this evening.

Since I’ve bought this tea its become my nightly ritual. It has a nice calming chamomile flavor and the citron is bright enough to lighten your mood. I always cut this with my white tea as the tea itself has no actual tea leaves and lack body but all in all the flavor is addicting. It turns a beautiful pink color because of the buds and it’s fruit but not overpowering. This tea works well unsweeted and with honey which means my whole family can enjoy it.

This tea had a minty fresh feel to it that was nice. The lemongrass and mint flavors stood out the most to me. It was really relaxing to drink this tea before bed.

This is a pretty decent tea. I got it as part of a 3 tin sampler pack since Tea Forte tends to have some pretty good blends. If you put just a pinch of honey in here this is some really good stuff. The citrus accents are pretty well balanced with the herbal chamomile and it leaves a nice tangy after taste as well, which sets it apart from the boring plain chamomile teas.
I’m drinking this right before I have to sleep so hopefully it works well enough for that.

The single steep packet contains enough for two pots of each, and each tsp of leaf can be brewed more than once.

An excellent and simple herbal blend with the taste of spicy ginger, lemony chamomile, and lots of citrus. Luckily, it is not acidic/as tart as lemon can be. The lemon verbena + chamomile + mint + licorice is lovely.

I really appreciate the quality of the ingredients. They taste very fresh and are potent enough to be re-steeped multiple times.

Brewed this for my little sick guy. He hated it whilst I didn’t mind much. Wouldn’t buy it, but as a free sample it delivered for my boy’s illeness; put him right to bed.

AnnaEA

I always had to add honey and milk to chamomile for my daughter.

@AnnaEA, Agreed, can’t have chamomile without honey!
