This particular Gaofeng plantation has been our partner for exact 2 years, and this will be the final season of this precious collaboration. We not only gain some incredible experience to explore the possibility of Qing Xin Oolong varietal, we also got a chance to process our first high elevation material for the first time back in 2018 spring.
You can call this the winter version of “Citrus Drop,” and we once again have the full support from the factory. As we mentioned in “Citrus Noon,” we took an quite unusual way while processing this material, which makes our processing schedule quite different from the one factory’s run, so we are super grateful for factory’s friendly cooperation.
The killing green began at 0700 AM, a perfect time to end the fermentation, which was about the exact timing of the “Nectar Noon” from last year. This timing made this tea’s objective conditions extremely similar to the 2018 version “Nectar Noon,” so one can clearly observe the difference of “vintage” from these two teas.
We hope this final version of the Gaofeng organic series will remind a tea lover’s joyful moment when they first encountered Taiwanese oolong tea from high elevation. We are again very grateful for the support from Mr. Kuo and Mr. Chen over the past two years. This Gaofeng plantation will always have a special place in our heart.
