I actually was not crazy about this tea when I first had it but I have since grown to absolutely love it! I drink it hot and plain with a two minute steep using two DT PS in a 16oz travel mug. In spite of it’s odd mix of ingredients I find it to be a simple tea that is comforting. The first and most dominant flavour is the genmatchia followed by a subtle sweetness from the pineapple. The last flavour note is the spice from the pink peppercorn. It is gentle in it’s presence and leaves just enough kick to push you towards your next sip. I loved falling in love with this tea and was extremely surprised at how much I grew to enjoy it! While I plan to explore other green teas in my collection for the time being I am very likely to repurchase this tea if it continues to be available.

Okay, even the ingredients in this tea scream gross to me. I got a sample of this, so I might as well give it a go. Being a green tea it’s sort of delicate, so I only steeped it for 2 mins. I can taste the peppercorns and popped rice… Possibly the pineapple. I had to put sugar in this to even drink it, so that might be bringing it out. I’m really glad I can’t taste the bamboo cause I hate that in tea. This tea is drinkable but meh.

time for a full review:

when i smell the leaves dry, they smell like strong pineapple and other fruits

when i smell the leaves wet, they smell a little like pineapple

when i smell the brewed tea, it smells a little like pineapple and peppery

when i taste the brewed tea, it smells sweet with pineapple and pepper

many thanks to christina for letting me help with the tea party setup and for giving me this tea

i wonder if there is a tea that tastes peppery more than this.
