When I first purchased this tea i was quite skeptic, I was sure that the tea’s name would overshoot as most tea’s with ambitious titles do. I couldn’t have been happier to be wrong. The tea starts out with a bitter and sweet hint of black tea and cinnamon which fades beautifully into a sweet chocolate aftertaste (yes it even tastes like white chocolate)… I’m not quite sure how they did it , but they hit the nail on the head with this one. it’s the closest thing to coffee you’ll drink that is actually a tea, and that kind of blows my mind. This is the second stash tea blend that I have tried and I’m happy to say they have a new customer .

I swore I would buy no more tea, but I didn’t count on an awesome friend sending me a holiday tea collection :)

The first flavor I notice in this tea is the cinnamon, but then the cinnamon recedes and the other flavors come through and it does somehow really taste like mocha? I guess it shows how suspicious I’ve become about tea names that I was actually shocked.

Sometimes I find myself perusing the tea isle at Ross…

There’s even tiramisu flavoring in this. Very sweet, very creamy, very tasty

I was feeling lazy and wanted something super quick and warm to curl up under the blankets with while it rains and I read, and seeing this on the counter, it fit the bill. I received this and a few other dessert teas samples from Stash, because stash used to be one of my favorites before I became a tea snob, and I never knew they had this kind of variety. So curiosity got the best of my and I requested some.

Because this is a tea bag, I’m not expecting great quality, just something quick and dirty and sweet. That being said, this isn’t half bad. I’m not getting much in the way of tea, but what I’m really getting is tiramisu. Cinnamon, espresso, and chocolate. I can see this being loved by someone who’s not a big tea person, or by someone looking to cure a sweet tooth guilt free, or even to throw in you bag for a quick fix in an emergency.

This is something that if I can find in stores, I would buy a box and leave it at my dads for when I visit for the day.

I love tea, curling up under a blanket and reading a book. :)

It’s weird to drink a tea that tastes like coffee. It’s confusing, and not entirely comfortable.

That being said…once you get used to the coffee/tea hybrid (coffea?) it’s not too bad. The second steep was better than the first, but I find that is the case with most chocolate teas I try. I didn’t have it in me to try a third.

I went and got a proper cup of coffee instead.

I love Stash; definitely my favourite bagged tea brand. Have you tried the Red Velvet Cake herbal yet?

221tea

I loved all of the other Stash teas, but not this poor little guy…

I haven’t tried the red velvet, but I love red velvet as a flavor…do you recommend?

Roswell Strange

I definitely recommend it! It’s the chocolate aspect of Red Velvet and the cream cheese icing; many Red Velvet flavoured things neglect the icing and that’s such an important flavour aspect of Red Velvet to me. I also really like the Decaf Vanilla Chai; it has an insanely good and comforting aroma.

I’ll have to check it out. I agree, the icing is very important! I am still filling up my cupboard, I only have about 20% entered because I am trying to review as I go, but if you would like to swap let me know :)
