Emerald Goddess brews up a golden yellow cup and possesses a wonderful sweet and creamy aroma. Its flavor is similarly soft and smooth, with a full body and lingering roasted flavor. This tea holds up well to a second and third infusion. Emerald Goddess will retain its unique flavor, making it perfect for all-day sipping.
This tea’s unique appearance is created by a heavy rolling process. The lightly oxidized leaves are rolled into tightly curled balls that unfold during infusion to yield magnificent large, thick, weighty leaves. These leaves have been lightly roasted, giving the Emerald Goddess an interesting undertone.
Emerald Goddess comes from China’s Fujian Province and is made from leaves of the Ti Kuan Yin variety. Tea farmers believe that these tea plants are specially blessed by the Chinese goddess or bodhisattva Guanyin, hence the name of the tea. She is commonly associated with compassion and kindness; legend says that she was the origin of the Ti Kuan Yin plant.
