From Stash Tea

Do you like:

A: Mint tea
B: Dessert tea
C: Christmas tea
D: All of the above

If you chose any of the options above, well then let us say a humble “you’re welcome” for this one. Here at Stash, we pride ourselves in coming up with the most delectable dessert teas in existence. So when we brewed up this exceptional blend, we knew we had one that was, as they say in Paris, très magnifique. Chocolate, vanilla, and Pacific Northwest peppermint combine with the light floral notes of lavender to create this lavish chocolate mint tea.

Christmas in Paris will no doubt become your new holiday tea favorite… or any day favorite for that matter (just be sure you stock up!). Enjoy it as a hot chocolate tea by adding a splash of milk and sugar to create the ultimate substitution for calorie-dense hot cocoa. Sip with your pinky up for the utmost vibe of Parisian sophistication. Oh la la.

0.65 tbsp from 1 pre-prepared teabag for 188 ml of water

Good flavour combination. Thin mouth-feel. Peppermint flavour at the forefront with trailing mild cocoa flavour. Hint of lavender. I think the vanilla gives it a bit of a sweetness but the actual flavour is difficult to detect.

Backlog

My friend who met me at the tea exchange recommended that I gave this one a try. It was the second cup for the afternoon and it was fairly good. I liked that there were gentle peppermint with chocolate notes. While my taste for Christmas-y teas has gone, I enjoyed this cup.

Not gonna lie, was pretty much dreading this one. I tend to dislike both chocolate and lavender teas, and this has both.

But actually it’s quite good?! Mostly I taste peppermint supplemented by lavender, which is a nice enough combination. The lavender is mellow enough that it doesn’t taste like soap to me. I do get a bit of the chocolate flavor, but mostly it’s a creamy milk chocolaty taste from the cacao shells and the vanilla.

Pretty good for a chocolate-mint tisane, and the peppermint seems like it’s good quality – fresh and clean without tasting like a wet rag. The addition of the lavender keeps it interesting with an almost savory edge. Pleasantly surprised!

This one surprised me too. We actually have 2 unopened boxes because we both enjoyed it that much!

Cameron B.

It’s really good, especially for a grocery store teabag!

I had this tea yesterday. It was really good. I did not like it in the past with honey but it’s good with stevia. Nice chocolate flavor. The lavender and mint are mild. I liked it even better when it cooled down. It was more flavorful when cooled down. I will have to try iced. I would buy it again.

This has a nice, gentle flavor. I taste the cocoa shells and a light floral touch from the lavender. I’m drinking this cold sweetened with milk, and it’s a pleasant enough cup that I’d actually consider buying a box of it. Everything combines to be a little desserty and very relaxing. Thanks tea-and-cats!

This is a sample from last year’s Christmas order. I have a student who loves Stash White Christmas and a daughter who probably has it running through her veins. They both usually get some Stash tea for gifts.

I fell asleep at 7 pm last night and woke at 11:40 pm unable to sleep again, so I decided to grab a good book and make a cup of caffeine free tea and get rid of a sample.

At 2 am, this is a surprisingly decent tea. It is nothing worthy of comparison to Cuppageek blends, but there we have it. The chocolate was in front for me with mint running alongside, and the lavender was very mild.

I would possibly even buy a box at Christmas if I didn’t have so much other tea I need to finish.

Cameron B.

I still have a set of six Christmas teas from Stash that my mom sent me last year, unopened… XD

I put my tea that had been inside a chest with other tea stacked on top into a small bookcase so I can see it all and reach it more easily. I am now cringing at how much too much tea I have, how much I have never added to cupboard, and how much I am fully intent on re-ordering,

On a happy note (and you know how happy this made me, Cameron) I found an unopened pack of CAROL!!!

Cameron B.

Ha ha yaaaaaay! A gift from your past self! :P

And you know you’re preaching to the choir here about “too much tea”… I probably have at least twice as much as you! XD

ashmanra

Thank you, Past Me! Ha ha!

I would be thrilled to be down to half of what I have right now!

We lost the run of ourselves a wee bit tonight and headed out to the shops to find holiday bagged teas. I told Lex that each year I see a specific holiday bagged tea pop up on Steepster and this year we have to find it! Well, I’m quite sure I had the name incorrect, but managed to pick up three holiday bagged teas anyway — and this is the first one we tried!

Actually, I’m quite happy with this! The peppermint is mellowed out by the combination of lavender and chocolate. All three flavours take a front seat, but none are overly obnoxious.

I’ve been thinking about the small bundle of these bags that are still under my roof and my need to locate and enjoy them soon! I’m less in love with Stash Tea than I once was, but this one is really good.

Courtney

I’m glad I’m not the only one!

Their Holiday Chai (Christmas Chai?) is another one I am surprised that I like as well as I do.

Courtney

I’ll have to keep an eye out for it!

Cameron B.

I’m hoping I can maybe score some Stash holiday teas while visiting my Momma! :O

Lexie Aleah

I second this one and the Holiday Chai!

This reminds me a lot of Teavana’s White Chocolate Peppermint Rooibos but without the strong licorice root aftertaste. I don’t taste any lavender, but I’m okay with that. I like this one more than I expected, but probably not enough to buy a whole box. Thanks for sharing, Devon Bartholomew!

I wanted something Chocolate-y tonight and this was pretty much all I had. Not quite what I wanted but I do like this one! It’s a lovely night time tea. Very creamy with some mint and lavender. I’ve been meaning to work on finishing up the box of this anyway.

I just finished a cup this evening! Creamy is a good description, and now you’ve made me wonder how well it would take milk. (Note to self … )

I’ve tried this a couple of times, and I’m just not a fan. The lavender just comes across as something strangely synthetic, and doesn’t positively contribute to the mint and chocolate (which is also a bit artificial tasting).
