From Simple Loose Leaf

Like many straight black teas, this one captures a hint of a slight dry dustiness when you smell the dry leaf. Like the scent of an old book store’s far back shelves. A hint of lost knowledge and nostalgia. A slight leather note with the warm presentation of a welcomed astringency. Like a dry red wine, this tea leaves a slight tartness on the back of your tongue. And provides a lovely raw cane sugar sweetness a few seconds after you swallow the tea. You can serve this tea in a traditional English style with milk and honey.

Today I learned that this tea is a winter harvest, and the more I drink the more absolutely delightful it feels.

I am reacting well from the first brewing last week, adjusting my steep times down to get a deeply flavorful but smooth tea experience.
