I received a sample of this tea from Nicole. I’ve been meaning to try honeysuckle tea, but this is the first chance I’ve had to sample it. It has a lovely floral scent, and the taste itself is sweet like flowers with a hint of a grassiness. I haven’t had many white teas, but as it stands, I think this could be my favorite. I’ll have to consider buying this tea next time I buy more tea.

It reminds me of toasted green beans.

Thanks so much to Amanda Wilson for a sample of this tea!

Maybe my first Shang tea? This is quite charming. Creamy hay like white tea and gentle sweet floral honeysuckle. Very nice!

I have such a love/hate relationship with honeysuckle. I LOVE the scent, and I used to sip the nectar from the blossoms as a kid. (SO GOOD!) As an adult however, I’ve got honeysuckle taking over my flower bed and it is SUPER ANNOYING! shakes fist at it :)

Yet another tea from Shang Tea that is great!

It must have been one of the best white teas that I have tried so far – smooth and sweet, fragrant and delicate in a way that only white teas can be… I have no idea how honeysuckle tastes / smells in isolation but it blends wonderfully with the base tea and enhances some of its natural sweetness and charm. I still have a little bit of my sample left, but I will be definitely ordering more of it some day.

Everything I’ve had previous from Shang Tea has been wonderful, so I had admittedly high expectations for this even though it was a bonus sample (yay!) and not something I had chosen myself.

I’ve never had honeysuckle blossom in a tea before, so I wasn’t completely certain on what to expect.

The cup is sweet, buttery, vegeta, sweet and slightly nutty. It’s not a honey sweetness, and not really sugary either, but more of a floral-like sweet.

It’s hard to pick out the base because it all kind of blends together to create a really lovely, relaxing cup.

And for fun, this:

is my earliest memory of honeysuckle.
