From Rishi Tea

Embrace the thrill of pristine mountain air with a taste of Patagonia Wild Guava. This blend is perfect for explorers and adventurers of all kinds. A rare type of guava called murta is wild-collected from the biodiverse forests of southern Chile. We expertly blend murta with quince, linden flowers, and eucalyptus for a deliciously quenching brew that soothes respiration at altitude. Patagonians combine murta and quince to make a traditional fruit jam called conserva de murta y membrillos that pairs perfectly with a cheese course.

Ingredients: Organic Chilean wild guava, organic quince, organic linden flowers, organic strawberries, organic eucalyptus

Cold Brew!

Every time I smell the dry leaf of this blend I just sneeze – there’s something about the way the linden and eucalyptus hit my nose that is just sooo intense to me.

However, brewed up I’m so pleasantly surprised by how light and refreshing this tastes. It’s a flavouring free fruit blend, so definitely not packing a whole lot of punch. As I’ve said before dehydrated or freeze dried fruits have waaayyyy less taste than most people expect. However, that said, there’s a pleasant semi-tart strawberry note that does still come through. I definitely am not reminded of guava, which is a bit of a shame since that’s the namesake of the blend – but that refreshing soft berry note and the hint of cooling eucalyptus in the finish is hitting the spot for me. Kind of like a fruit infused water or “spa water” type vibe!

It’ll be interesting to try this hot.

This tea doesn’t quite live up to its exotic name. I was expecting something fruity and tropical but the end result tasted like apple cider vinegar. The tea brews up a copper color with citrusy notes of lemon and orange peels but tastes very puckery. It’s like drinking a tart fruit juice minus the sweetness. Don’t really taste the guava, quince, strawberries, or any of the other ingredients in the blend. It’s just sour all around. Tried it as a cold brew and the results were more or less the same. The idea of this tea is nice but execution is sadly a fail.

Gross. Would not want to drink a warm mug of ACV.

Aw, too bad. I really love guava too. I have like 20 of them in my fridge now. It would be nice to get a really good guava tea.

@Kawaii433 I’d love to try a good guava tea myself. Are there any good ones out there you’d recommend?
