Qing Zing Bao Zhong, one of Rishi’s owner’s favorites, was harvested in mid-April from a single farm from the Fong Man tea group in Mingjian Village, Nantou. This tea farm was planted for Rishi Tea six years ago with a new breed of qingxin that has great performance when processed into Bao Zhong, oolong or light baking style teas. This Bao Zhong has a more assertive floral character and a distinctive, rich amino acid taste and mouthfeel. The aroma is very floral with notes of fresh, crushed pine needles. This tea is perfect for gong fu cha brewing, as it releases character over many brews. It is also delicious cold brewed.
I’ve only had one pouchong/baozhong to date, and I loved it.
