From Red Blossom Tea Company

Emperor grade pu-erh teas were first crafted as tributary teas for the Chinese emperor. Only fine young leaves were thought worthy for these imperial gifts. Our 1996 Emperor has distinct golden buds interspersed amongst the leaves, giving the tea a rich aromatics and a slightly sweeter flavor. Originally from the Menghai area of Yunnan Province, we acquired this tea from a trusted tea source in Wuhan, China.

Not as “intense” as some other puerhs. Smooth and a little sweet. I asked the lady at the shop for a puerh that was not overly earthy or smokey – this is what she recommended. I was told the smoothness is attributed to the fact that this particular puerh is very tippy.

I ordered this at the same time I ordered the Charcoal Roasted Tea and I love it. I will be ordering this one again and again. You should give it a try!
