WHITE GRAPES is the fifth release of this special series; a mix of two Taiwanese oolongs (cultivars Si Ji Chun and Ying Xiang) blended and aged for over three months in a chardonnay seasoned oak barrel. A bold fusion between two worlds, this experiment is again part of our ongoing effort to make 2021 the ultimate fun year!
Lower altitude Si Ji Chun (crisp and fragrant) and high mountain Ying Xiang (creamy and spicy) blended in a single glorious batch of barrel-aged tea. The chardonnay barrel brings buttery aromatics to the foremouth and thickens even further the creamy Taiwanese oolongs. It took more than three months of ageing to really feel the barrel’s influence on the tea. But now that it’s there, it’s unmistakable.
All in all, WHITE GRAPES steeps an easy cup with clear and buttery aromatics. It’s mostly fruity, with dominant white grape notes and more subtle honeydew melon and cinnamon under layers. It holds pretty well in the mouth and its spicy finish clings to your tastebuds for a while after each sip.

First steeps are syrupy and sweet with an almost effervescent fruity and boozy element before settling into a gentle fruity character intertwined with creamy delicate white floral notes. It’s really nice and calm, perfect for a winding down evening!
