2016 Zenpuer Mengku Ancient Tree Green Pu-erh Tea Cake
The pesticide testing has been conducted on this tea, and the tea passed the test against multiple chemicals with flying colors.
Our Zenpuer Mengku tea cake is made by using the ancient tree tea leaves harvested in the second week of 2016 from selected eco tea fields, at least 200 to more than 300 years old. It is the first green Zenpuer tea cake we managed to make in 2016. Yes, we scaled back our production, only the best had the chance to become a Zenpuer.
Now you would enjoy a nice drink with bright yellow tone, and great throat feeling, rich and mouthful. We believe this tea cake would be a good candidate for long term storage.
The only close match you could find is our MGH 1207 Best of Mengku tea.
This is a full-bodied, heavyweight tea that isn’t shy on richness, flavor and complexity. Refreshing, aromatic and sweet, expect a blast off liquor with notes of vegetal, hay, spicy and leather, it can be enjoyed now.

Perhaps a factor of too dry storage at Puerhshop but that is only a guess as to the origin of the sour note. The tea did improve as I resteeped it. The sour note lasted perhaps three steepings. BY the eighth steep it had a very nice sweet note. I had just had somuch tea this morning I didn’t feel like continuing. If you don’t mind the initial sour note it is a good tea.
I steeped this eight times in a 75ml teapot with 5g leaf and boiling water. I gave it a 10 second rinse. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, and 30 sec.
