Realized that of all the teas I have, this is the only chai. There is one that is similar to a chai, but not the real deal. Was in the mood for something spicy, so I thought I would give this a go. I am at work so it wasn’t prepared “properly,” but it’s hot so what more can I ask for?
I used my standard “hot” water source and threw in a splash of (cold) milk as there wasn’t any option to heat it. Left the teabag in a few minutes as it was looking pretty watery, et voila!
To be fair, this is a very cheap tea. Chai in a teabag is a bit weird anyway since all the components were smushed down to powder long ago, but still. This is extremely mild. The sort of chai the beau might be willing to drink. One of the spices is kicking up at the end of the sip, but in general it’s pretty smooth. It’s generic, but a nice standard and I will certainly use the rest. It’s nice to have easy bags to pop in the mug while at work. Maybe 2 bags to 1 cup would work better..

You know what, I love having crappy quality bagged chais like this on hand – if you throw like five in a pot and simmer with milk, add some fresh grated ginger or freshly ground black pepper – then it’s actually not too bad! I always save them for pumpkin chais in the wintertime (not sure if you like pumpkin!) but it’s nice not to have to waste good chai tea on something that tastes like pumpkin anyways haha. That recipe is a half a can of pumpkin, 2 cups of milk, 10 or more chai tea bags, nutmeg and cinnamon with whipped cream to top.
I digress! I’m sure you’ll find a way to finish off your bags! That’s all I was trying to say lol
well to be fair I didn’t buy them, one of my parents did, there’s nothing wrong with cheap chai (if I use my PC points it’s free) when I get home I’ll experiment with it and see if I can make it better :D

I bought this Tea thinking it was going to be like Masala chai but its not all I imagine its got very little black tea and the spices used are on the cheap side of things black pepper and cloves over power the tea which is like a weak lady gray type and you can really smell it and taste it.
This is a herbal tea and for old ladies that like to drink tea because its healthy not because its tasty and this is not like normal spiced indian tea at all .

I used to drink this tea a year ago before i stopped drinking bagged teas and it was more spicy. however, the decided to make ‘improvements’ and i decided to try it again because it was on sale and i was curious. It smelled very licorishy and i steeped for 5-6 minutes as the directions said and then added milk.
to my surprise it tasted like watered down licorice and was extremely watery. It had almost no flavour so the sweetner could’nt hold onto any flavouring.
I then tried it cold and the flavour stood out much more. I think this is barely a chai and is more like a herbal because a chai should be able to carry milk and sugar and this couldn’t.
Not the best chai I’ve had, but decent, especially for the price. I enjoy it with a little sweetner to cut the spicy edge. Not sure if I’m a huge fan of chais.. but this one is drinkable for sure! Love it as an afternoon snack with a cookie/biscotti/something delicious and cakey. I find if it steeps too long, gets a little weird bitter after taste.
Not too bad!
It just may get me through until I get back home after Christmas.
Mildly spicy, had the chai taste but is not really up to the standards that I’m accustomed to.
I boiled the water and drank it with one splenda.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying attention, and forgot the take the bag out and by the end of it, the tea was quite bitter.
