From Plum Deluxe

If a calming, sweet cup of herbal tea is calling your name, then pour yourself a cuppa of white chocolate peppermint rooibos herbal tea. It’s a simple blend of white chocolate (in our case, a creamy vanilla), peppermint, and rooibos with a sprinkling of coconut flakes for an adding touch of sweet. It takes well to sweetener but doesn’t need it – this fragrant and delicious herbal tea is perfect for all occasions, whether it’s a child’s tea party, a decaf tea for reading time, or just curled up in bed with PJs – nobody needs an excuse for a cup of white chocolate peppermint.

INGREDIENTS:
Rooibos Tea, Honeybush Tea, Peppermint, Cocoa Nibs, Coconut Flakes, White Chocolate Essence.

Ugh! Last night aaround 10:00 the fire alarm in my building went off. In my PJs, I went to the door to see what wqs happening. The hallway was a little hazy. FIRE!!!

I hustled around trying to catch the cats, but I could not find them. I rushed to get dressed, bundled up, and hurried outside. AS I went I passed police and firemen pounding on doors telling people to evacuate.

Scary. Very scary. I huddled outside with other resdents, including a family with four children recently arrived from Syria. They did not have hats or heavy coats. The temperature was -21F with a windchill of -44. WE all stood out there for a little over 20 minutes before we were allowed back in. The fire was small, isolated to one apartment, started by a space heater too close to the carpet. Nobody hurt.

It took me over an hour to warm up again. I brewed my sample of this tea. It helped. I liked it. Not enough to order 4 ounces, but enough to re-steep. Sometimes rooibos can be very woody tasting. I didn’t get that here. Maybe the honeybush covered it. It was mildly sweet on its own so I did not add any sweetener. I have enough left for another small cup, and I will be glad to have that.

Oh well, that is terrible situation. I am glad it wasn’t anything serious!

I know you must have been frantic for the cats! I an so glad everyone was safe. I hope today is extra cozy for you.

Oh my gosh! Worst timing for that fire for everyone!

I’m drinking this cold, and the mint and white chocolate are pretty well balanced, strong, and bright. Many versions of this sort of tea are really artificial and disappointing. This one ended up a little oily, but I don’t mind that, and the flavor was quite pleasant. This is a nice option, though at that price, I’d still choose another brand if I were in the market for this flavor profile. I did like that they used white chocolate like in my favorite Teavana version.

I need to try Simpson & Vail’s White Chocolate Peppermint green rooibos… It’s on my list for my next order!

Also I haven’t tried Plum Deluxe yet, but I’m excited for my advent calendar! :D

AJRimmer

That one’s on my list too! Yeah I’m definitely excited for all my advents (:

Mastress Alita

I don’t really “do” advents anymore like everyone else, aside from trying to find those companies that typically only sell “large” quantities of tea or their teas are on the spendy side and use the advent as a handy way to “get samplers” that otherwise aren’t available. I got a Plum Deluxe advent this year too, as their price per ounce for tea is rather high, but the cost of the advent to get 24 samplers was quite reasonable, especially compared to many other advents. (Still hasn’t shipped, though…)

Cameron B.

@Mastress Alita – That’s kind of the point for me, too – to get a lot of samples in one package. Although it is also fun in conjunction with Steepster, because you get to read others’ thoughts on the same tea that you had each day. :)

Mastress Alita

See, last year Steepster “spoiled” an advent calender gift I got because someone was doing their advent on different days, and that kinda put me off. I even stopped reading the site for a time, then when I came back, I had a ridiculous amount of reading to catch up on… now I just rip all the samplers out of the advent immediately. I don’t celebrate Christmas anyway. I probably won’t log any of them until much later… and not mention they were “part of” an advent.

Dustin

I just got a notice 3 days ago that the Plum Deluxe advent was shipping. Tracking still doesn’t have it in their system as picked up yet.

Cameron B.

Oh, well that’s not cool. I’ve been doing two advents this month but I’m saving all the notes in a spreadsheet to post on the correct days in December.

Mastress Alita

Huh. I pre-ordered back in October, and STILL haven’t received a shipping notice…

amandastory516

I pre-ordered the Plum Deluxe advent in October too, and was wondering when it would ship. I reached out and they said they sent it yesterday….but I never got a tracking email. May be the same for you.

Thank you Plum Deluxe for this sample!

I was so excited to try this one, as white chocolate is one of my favorite things, and peppermint is one of my go to tea flavors, and to top it all off, it has a rooibos base, and I love the natural sweetness you get from a rooibos tea.

I was conflicting how long to brew it for because a rooibos tea I typically steep for a rather long time, however with peppermint teas I steep for considerably less time. So my solution was to brew my first cup right in the middle of the suggested time (3-6min). 4.5 minutes later I had myself a cup of tea! After the typical impatient waiting time for the tea to cool enough to drink, I tried it.

It was surprising, at first I really got the sweet rooibos and then the peppermint and then a light white chocolate flavor. I really enjoyed this combination and it was easy to sip the cup. I wish the flavors were a little more together rather than tasting each flavor individually, which is strange because I am not sure how that makes sense when it is a cup of tea so of course everything is all together…

If you like peppermint and white chocolate I would recommend this tea, it has a fuller, sweeter body than a typical peppermint tea, while still remaining light and easy to sip.
