The fresh nose, sweet floral flavor, and rounded fresh taste distinguish this tea as great First Flush Darjeeling. Fresh, floral bouquet and a well-rounded, lightly brisk taste
An exceptional Spring Darjeeling with a fresh, floral bouquet and a well-rounded, lightly brisk taste. The first time in 10 years we’ve had First Flush from this estate based in Northern India.
The fresh nose, sweet floral flavor, and rounded fresh taste distinguish this tea as great First Flush Darjeeling. We selected this lot as the very best cup of Spring 2014. The estate has an interesting history: it was originally planted in 1865 under the name of Bara Ringtong. Later, in the 1920s, the estate was managed by an Englishman named Mr. Cruikshank. His daughter, Margaret, came out from England to visit, and became so enchanted with the beautiful hills that she vowed to come back to live there when she finished school. On the voyage home, she died of malaria. In memory of her, the estate was renamed Margaret’s Hope.
We are pleased to offer this refreshing and brisk tea to honor Margaret’s Hope Estate.
