From Paper & Tea

An energizing organic chai made of malty black tea with traditional warming spices

In India, chai recipes are closely guarded family secrets. We’ll reveal at least this much: Just the right side of spicy, our savory blend of fine, restorative Masala spices meets its perfect match in the full-bodied, malty depth of a rich Assam black tea.

ADVENT DAY 5

Classic Chai. So true! I mean, it was a delicate black tea base, bold and full flavoured, malty and highly enjoyable on itself. Quite ginger forward cup, but not overpowering the other spices as cloves and cinnamon. I tend to like more cinnamon chais. Cardamom was present as well, though, again, I would prefer more of it than the ginger.

I do plain chais, so no milk nor honey, but in milk it could be better. More smooth. Better pronounced weaker spices.

Something is missing in this cup.

Adventaggedon Day 23: Tea 4/8

Pretty much consistent with the first time I had it in the advent earlier this month which does mean that I didn’t love it, but the silver lining is that it complimented my lunch that I ordered in for myself quite well. I got some Lebanese food from a new favourite restaurant; pomegranate molasses lentil stew and a maple grilled halloumi. I sipped this with eating the stew and it made the tea better for sure; less bitter and astringent and the fennel complimented the pomegranate notes in the stew really well!
