There is an Italian Christmas cake called Panettone, have you tasted it? In any case, it is precisely the tasty cake that has been modeled for the flavoring of this organic black tea. A good mix of orange, lemon, cinnamon and vanilla.

List of ingredients: Black tea*, cinnamon*, natural vanilla flavoring, orange peel*, lemon peel*, marigold*, rose petals*, natural orange flavoring, natural lemon flavoring, natural cinnamon flavoring. *From controlled organic cultivation.

Nabo 2022 Advent Day 19: Italiensk Sockerkaka

I order 50g of this one with my original order to Nabo and haven’t ever sat down to make a note. I have to say, while it is tasty, I always find myself wanting something more here. More depth or complexity. I think the flavours all play well together here, and it’s quite light-bodied overall. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this tea — this is definitely a me problem. Lexa says this is reminiscent of panettone, so there’s that!

We did discover vegan panettone this year but didn’t manage to order one before they sold out. Perhaps next year!

Kelmishka

Ooh, where’d you find the vegan panettone?

Courtney

We found two brands: Dacasto and Vergani. :)

Nabo Advent Calendar 2022 – Day 19

So this is meant to be a panettone-flavored tea, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a panettone with cinnamon in it? Usually they’re more just buttery and orangey with dried fruits and sometimes chocolate. (Also, it’s not really a cake, it’s more of an enriched bread, like brioche…)

It’s a nice enough festive tea. There is a strong orange presence that’s sweet and does remind me of the flavor of panettone, however the cinnamon is also quite strong, which takes it more in the direction of an orange spice holiday tea. There is a certain buttery brioche-y quality to it as well.

It’s a nice restrained orange spice tea with a bit of a desserty element. Now I kind of want to try panettone with cinnamon, like a cinnamon raisin panettone… :O

I could definitely get behind a cinnamon raisin panettone!

I asked my Swiss (she has got Italian roots) friend what should be in panettone and she told me that it’s up to you. Mostly fruits are used, but if you like raisins or cinnamon, or whatever, it’s up to you!

At this point I think my love of chocolate chip panettone is well-documented, so I’m glad it’s not considered a total sacrilege!

This should be Panettone flavoured and honestly I got nothing from it.
Actually, I feel it is a bit flat in flavours; little spicy black tea. Citrus notes? Not so much.

Fine, but not memorable either. Or I just don’t remember even recently drank tea?
