Sipdown (1075)!

Finishing this one off now – thank you VariaTEA (and also Evol Ving Ness) for sharing with me! It’s pretty nice; I tend to like pistachio teas and this one is a really nice sweet pistachio with an almost amaretto/almond kind of undertone to it as well. Full bodied, enveloping in the mouth and weirdly just a hint spicy!?

Sipdown (273)

I think this is one of the last remaining samples shared with me by Evol Ving Ness.

This sample is like 3 years old. Plus I didn’t steep this as long as intended. As such it could be human error that is making this basically just a slightly nutty mediocre black tea. Still fun to try though so thank you, Evol Ving Ness!

GCTTB ROUND 6

Sweet, fruity (distinct flavours of strawberry jam, dates, fig), floral (rose, gardenia, maybe jasmine?), spices. It reminds me of my grandmother’s date cake with jam on it. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the black tea seems prone to becoming overly tannic (I only steeped mine 3 minutes). In the future I will try 2 minutes, but I really like the intensity of the fruity/floral notes.

Less leaves, and it is surprisingly chocolaty. I steeped it at fifteen seconds. It’s still a little strong for me, but better than it was last time. Overall, a malty, borderline chocolaty black tea with the rose, cardamom, and saffron in the background playing into a sweet cup. I’m half tempted to add cream since it is so strong. Sugar, however, would not do it justice.

Thank you for the sample Evol Ving Ness!

Rose isn’t generally a flavour that I enjoy in tea, but I like to try them now and again to see if my tastes have changed. Nope, I still don’t like rose. It is a perfectly good tea, just not for me. I’m glad to have tried my tastes again, so thanks for that Evol!

Sample from evol ving ness Wasn’t too sure about this one given the number of flowers in the tea but as always, i’ll try anything , just in case :) this one is an interesting tea. i love the clove and cardamom and the base tea here is really nice. i think if you were someone who enjoys floral teas, this would be a hit. It’s not super floral, really more of a rose flavour that blends in with the spices. I think it’s a pretty neat tea – just satisfied with me sample :)

Also…WAY COOL ADDITION of pistachios in this tea! can you imagine? pistachios! plus rose? neat!

Evol Ving Ness

What what?—you haven’t mentioned the pistachios. I hunted up the pistachios in the bag to delight you further. Mention the pistachios, Sil. :)

Sil

hahah i don’t what you’re talking about…they’re totally there in my note.

Evol Ving Ness

My happiness is now complete.

Superb. Nice balance of rose, clove, cardamon, and something delicate, carried on a solid black tea base. Three good steepings. I enjoy my tea black and unsweetened.
