From Mei Leaf

This was a sample which we tasted as a celebration to launch our website and boy is this a celebration tea!

We fell head over heels for this Gushu PuErh made from estimated 800 year old ancient arbor tea trees growing in Yiwu mountainous region. This tea was picked in Spring 2005 and processed by hand before being pressed by stone mills and aged in the forests around Kunming.

The ageing of the tea trees is always a matter of contention but we know the level of expertise of our sources and believe it to be accurate.

The pricing of this tea is eye-watering which is why we purchased a solitary two cakes and we are selling 5g quantities for you to have a very special session.

This is Yiwu at its best, with all of that sweet, syrupy and easy drinking pluminess that the area is known for which lasts for over ten infusions. The ageing has made the liquor soft, oily and thick.

The picking is extra fine with buds and two leaves vs the usual format of up to four leaves. This further enhances its refined flavour and texture.

Is it worth £14.50 for a 5g session? Clearly, this is an extravagant tea but if you fancy adding a truly exclusive grade tea to your collection then look no further. Make sure that you share it with someone you really love though!
