I made this as a chilled latte and found it to be very tasty. I’m not sure how much like eggnog it is, but I like it.

On second taste, there’s just something rather unpleasant about this tea. I’m not sure exactly why, but I think the complexity of the flavour just doesn’t mesh all that well with the matcha base.

I’ve a sample bag of caramel matcha that’s just calling my name…so I think I’m just going to set this one aside (maybe for the TTB that’ll show up here in a while).

…and I’m still tasting that weird banana flavour. Bleh.

Holy moly this is phenomenal! I got a free packet of this through Red Leaf’s monthly sample offer. After my disappointing experience with Peppermint Matcha, I felt rather cautious about trying this out.

Oh my goodness, this is fabulous! It tastes incredibly creamy with just the right nudge of spice. I drank this as a hot latte, but am planning to try it cold as well, being that I don’t usually heat up regular eggnog anyways. There is a highly probably chance this will be one of my main Christmas beverage staples in the next couple weeks. Yum!

I got this matcha as a free sample with another order in a small gold packet with some Chinese characters on it (wish I would have written them down because I love learning characters!). I saw that it had the delicate flavor which I have had before. Generally with the amount of matcha I use, about 2 chashaku full, delicate flavored matcha is hardly detectable. One day, after I had already had a cup of this matcha using the chashaku, I decided much later to try it out using a full teaspoon. Finally the eggnog flavor started to come out, plus I added almond milk which seemed to extract some of the flavor. I have only the faintest memory of eggnog, but this brought it back. Two cups of matcha in the same day was not such a good idea hahaha. I immediately became jittery and started sweating. I started to think at 3 times my normal speed, but I expected all of this so it wasn’t so bad. Hey, I’m ready to suffer for the cause of matcha reviewing any day!

I’m chuckling a little after reading the description. This drink will help me appear trendy AND adventurous! I better get out of the house to be seen with this drink in order to reap those benefits! ;)

This matcha came as a free sample with my order, I love free samples! This seems like an excellent way to try a new flavor and I wish they offered the option to buy 10 different flavors in this size as a try me pack.

I mixed it with a little sugar, powdered goat milk and hot water. Usually with eggnog, the most dominant flavor or scent is nutmeg, but it is more subtle in this letting the creamy custard like flavors shine. It is a little bitter mid sip, I’m guessing the free samples are the basic grade matcha which has that nip to it. I get a more full eggnog flavor as an aftertaste with it being creamier during the sip. It is a fun holiday flavor, but it isn’t amazing me with it’s flavor intensity. Looks like there is enough in the sample for a couple more cups, so I’ll try something different next time to see if I can get more flavor out of it. I’m excited that I got to try it. Thank you Red Leaf for the sample!

I’ve never had eggnog before but this matcha was amazing! I made it into a Hot Latte using vanilla soy milk.

Ok, if you like Eggnog you will love this. I wasnt to sure about flavored matcha in the begining but I was proved wrong. The second I opened this the smell just filled the room. I was in shock. It smelled amazing, and sure enough I immediately made a drink with it. Its tastes exactly like it smells which is amazing. All I did was add 1/2 a teaspoom to a cup of nonfat milk and a packet of sweetnlow and it was amazing. I was so happy with it. It also comes in a cute little package that is easy to get matcha from without making a mess, which is great for someone like me who is super klutzy. Red Leaf never fails to amaze me, Their matcha is so good, and also very reasonably priced. They also have made me a true believer in flavored matcha, which is great for those even starting out or for those who dont like the real taste of it. It tastes like eggnog, but is so much healthier!! Absolutely love it and will definitely be buying more.

Thanks to the wonderful VariaTEA for passing down a sample of this! This is a major backlog. I drank this like three months ago, and both times were quite tasty. Incredibly creamy and velvety, I tried it both hot and cold, and it was great both ways. I was hoping for some spice, particularly nutmeg. However, I didn’t get any. While it’s not a favourite, it’s one I would actually order if I were getting those 5 + 2 free matcha deals and couldn’t think of anything else. I can see it seamlessly blend with any other flavours.

I’m glad you liked it. It made for a good milkshake.

I was lucky to get a sample of this one! Thanks Red Leaf Tea!

Steep #1 // water cooled a half hour
Opening the package, it smells EXACTLY LIKE eggnog! How do they do it? HOW DO THEY DO ITTT? Wow. I couldn’t even tell the difference by the scent blindfolded. The flavor is the same way – so much like eggnog! Eggy and with the eggnog spices! I am amazed. I’d say this is the most accurate matcha flavor from Red Leaf of the few I’ve tried. All on their lovely fresh green matcha. I had major focus while reading after drinking this as well. I can’t wait to try it with milk….

Steep#2 // warm milk latte
Somehow with milk, this kind of tastes a bit less like eggnog than with water, which is just a testament to how much this actually tastes like eggnog. It still tastes very much like eggnog with milk… you just get more of the flavor showing through the water. It’s amazing magic. So delicious. It has a natural sweetness. It seems like sugar is in this one, but there isn’t. I’d prefer this over eggnog any day! One of my favorites from Red Leaf.

I actually gave my sample of this to a girl who works at my local starbucks. I made an order and tacked it on when it was free, thinking I’d try it even though I don’t like eggnog. I never got adventerous enough to try it but she was astounded by my generosity. She loved the heck out of it too, and that makes me happy. Gonna have to try matcha before a good reading session too…hmm.

I’m not usually a huge fan of matcha, but I came across a sample pack of this the other day and I really enjoyed it. It has a nice creamy smooth taste, I also tried it as a latte and it was decadent! I’m a fan, I think I might have to try some different matcha’s now.
